If Die Hard is considered a Christmas movie, why not jumanji. Even Robin Williams dresses up as Santa at the end

But was Christmas centric to the plot or did the movie just happen to have events happen around Christmas? That’s the question.
I bring to the discussion
Is this a Christmas movie? The central plot point happens because of Christmas and Americans enjoying the season.

Home Alone and Die Hard both take place at Christmas with that fact being a crucial part of the story but not the main point. Why is one considered a Christmas movie and the other is highly debated?
Main character thwarts a robbery during Christmas with outside help from an unlikely ally.

There are two kinds of Christmas movies IMO
1. Movies that are specifically made to be about Christmas with the intent of being watched during Christmas time. The Christmas holiday anchors the plot, settings, costumes, music, and other design decisions prominently feature Christmas elements, and there is a typically wholesome and uplifting message woven into the story. The entire creative intent to the movie is for it to be a "Christmas movie." They are also typically released during the holiday season.
2. Movies that become part of people's Christmas tradition even though they aren't category 1 movies. They typically have one or more of the qualities in listed for category 1 movies, but they lack the creative intentionality of being "Christmas movies."
It's a Wonderful Life is a category 2. It was never meant to be a "Christmas movie" but became part of people's Christmas tradition anyway. Die Hard is a category 2. I know people who watched the LOTR trilogy at Christmas because the movies came out at Christmas time and they've watched them each year at Christmas ever since.

Nobody really considers Die Hard a Christmas movie
It was a fun thing to debate, at first. That turned into an intellectual exercise.
It's like Flat Earth or transgenders. Nobody really believes it, except for a handful of retards
