quote:
He constantly picks on Dwight even though Dwight is a good enough guy who maybe takes his job a little too seriously and is a bit of a brown noser. He's a hard worker while Jim has nothing better to do than constantly prank him for no other reason than his own entertainment.
Dwight wants to run a communist work environment and wishes only for the power to fire 95% of the office. Dwight's good qualities are only brought about after all of the interaction he has with Jim. He absolutely deserved, and needed, every prank Jim ever pulled.
quote:
He goes after Pam when she is engaged. Then she ends her engagement and he moves out of town and gets another job at the other Dunder Mifflin branch and basically leaves her high and dry.
He's in love with Pam and she sends about every single known to man that she is unhappy and really into Jim. Also, she ended her engagement after she shot him down , "I guess you just misinterpreted things"... bitch, and he moved out of town.
quote:
He then starts a relationship with Karen while he still has feelings for Pam and basically leads her on.
Who has never had a rebound chick?
quote:
He goes and starts a company, in another city behind his wife's back. He doesn't talk to her about it at all even though they have two kids and stable jobs at Dunder Mifflin.
Same guy that supported her while she moved to Philly for the art program she failed so badly at. Also did the same for her while she joined the Michael Scott Paper Company. Jim was wayyy out of Pam's league and she really comes off as selfish. Jim starting the company and not telling her was wrong, but he was merely making his dream a priority for a change, something Pam never would have done. How does she repay him? By almost nailing the camera guy.
quote:
now that I am watching the show in reruns it makes me realize that the dude is pretty much just a douche.
I just finished mine and the guy was a Saint. He pranked Dwight, but always went to bat for him. He was Michael's greatest accomplishment. And Pam sucks so ridiculously bad. She literally does nothing well.

A great deal of insight into Jim's personna was provided when they revealed his bedroom during a party at his apartment. More or less looked like a high school kid's bedroom.
Then he thinks it's a great idea to purchase his childhood home home.
He was very immature and socially underdeveloped and perhaps at Dunder Mifflin he was looking to be the cool guy for once in his life.

Well, Pam is a flaky bitch so I like to think they will be miserable together.

Yeah working in sales, especially paper, is very stable

I thought that Jim basically acknowledges during the run of the show that he was wrong for thinking he was better than his coworkers and that Michael and Dwight were actually really good guys / close friends.

Jim did Dwight a favor by making him lighten up (see the episode where they team up to go on sales calls). Jim was always relatively supportive of Michael.

He was a total douche. Idris Elba should have kicked his arse

This.
Jim was immature, but smart enough to stand out at a place like Dunder Mifflin-Scranton.
Also, what was up with Jim hanging in Philly all the time for his new job. It seemed like even on his days off/weekends he would stay in Philly at the apt with Daryl. They say in the show that he's only going there for the days he works there, but we also see him hanging out at his apt in his underwear during the day.

I've always had a thing for Amy Adams.

Yeah, he did some assholeish things, but I think too it was his way of dealing with being the only sane one working in that office. Dwight was an easy mark to prank, as was Andy.
I never much cared for the Jim-Pam story arc, and thought the show lost its magic in season 4 when they started dating. They were my 2 least favorite characters on the show, though I loved Jim's facial expressions.

Everyone forget about Isabel? Pam's friend that Dwight was nailing.
She was hotter than any of the other gals in the office.
