Hear me out:

He constantly picks on Dwight even though Dwight is a good enough guy who maybe takes his job a little too seriously and is a bit of a brown noser. He's a hard worker while Jim has nothing better to do than constantly prank him for no other reason than his own entertainment.

He goes after Pam when she is engaged. Then she ends her engagement and he moves out of town and gets another job at the other Dunder Mifflin branch and basically leaves her high and dry.

He then starts a relationship with Karen while he still has feelings for Pam and basically leads her on.

He goes and starts a company, in another city behind his wife's back. He doesn't talk to her about it at all even though they have two kids and stable jobs at Dunder Mifflin.

He just basically thinks he's hot shite and now that I am watching the show in reruns it makes me realize that the dude is pretty much just a douche.

Thoughts?

He's an average guy in any demeaning workplace in America just trying to find something worth the grind...makes him human his faults just like every character, point of the show

Yeah, Jim is an a-hole, but he and Pam kind of represent the audience, and the audience are kind of assholes for laughing at these peoples lives.

While Dwight may he an annoying coworker, he doesn't deserve half the pranks Jim pulls on him.

This is why I like the Classy Christmas episode in which not only does Dwight work Jim over, but he kinda kicks his arse

So yeah, Jim is an a-hole.

1.) how is a job at D&M stable? The original company was battling going under for years until they were saved by another company at the last minute. Even then their field is often referred to as a dying industry due to the world going paperless. Considering Jim and Pam's livelyhood mostly center around Jim's income as a salesman I call any financial endeavor centered around stability being a man and stepping up to provide for your family.

Besides Pam has a 4/5 chance of making a poor financial/career decision based on prior choices made in the show. Leaving her irrational thinking out of it was probably one of the smartest things Jim could do.

2.) Dwight(someone you obviously relate to) slept with an engaged woman whereas Jim just shared his feelings and stole a kiss...1 of these situations can get you your arse beat and the other can get you killed. If Jim was out of line then what defense is there for Dwight.

3.) His relationship with Karen started when he went to a more successful branch and had no intention of returning to Scranton.

4.) He is hot shite and everyone knows it. Jane, Michael, David, Joe, Rob. That is 2 CEO's, 1 RM, and 2 corporate higher ups.

Jan with new boobs was by far the hottest chick on the show.

Minus the psychopath part.

I've always thought Jim was a bit of a prick.
He clearly thought he was better than everybody else, but he hid that until he got with Pam.

The douchiest Jim ever got was that episode where he fricks with Andy for basically no reason.
The heavy competition episode.
