I saw the trailer before Mandolorian and I think I recognized her.

Covered in mud and dirt. Looked like the underworld.

The Greeks aren't having it. Much like the Egyptians, and 'black Cleopatra', the natives are up in arms. Wonder if they'll be a lawsuit.

I don't think there is a single Greek in the entire production, so, much ado about nothing.

There not being a Greek in the production IS the problem.

How do you see that being much ado about nothing?

Because it really doesn't matter. It's a myth in celluloid. Most of the actors are scots-irish. There aren't that many top tier greek actors. Who cares? Seems a waste of time for the over privileged.

Babbling? I'm pretty direct. Unless the entire cast is Greek or Turkish, shut the frick up. It's an adaptation of a Myth. No one really cares.

We acting like Ancient Greeks looked anglo-white? The likely looked more like Osama Bin Laden than George Washington.

Get the frick over it.

We know what Greeks look like. Because they’re still Greeks today. Nobody said they looked like George Washington but they sure didn’t look like sub-Saharan Africans either.

Seriously, what the frick is wrong with you?

What is wrong with you? You care so much about base entertainment...why?

You're really asking someone who views films as nothing more than entertainment what is wrong with them? While you sperg out about a black woman being cast in a bit part?

ETA: I'm willing to bet you've never read the Iliad or the Odyssey.

What’s that even supposed to mean?

Black woman for a part that isn’t even a black woman? Yeah, every day.

Never read it? Who do you think I am, some random actress who’s playing Helen of Troy in a Nolan film?

Respect the source material or don’t pass it off as authentic.

You've never read them, have you?

There are no Greeks or Turks in the film, so the source material has already been "disrespected". What's the issue? It's a good waste of 3 hours or it isn't. Who cares?

Covered it in HS, so there goes your idiotic take. More than read it, got tested on it. But so what? It’s 2700 yrs old, regardless of whether I read it or not. Your point is moot.

Who cares? Tons of people. Especially Nolan & the studio that hired him. They’re gonna wish HE cared more about sticking to the story.

Yeah, this is bullshite. While it's certainly an adaptation of a myth, it takes place in a historical time period (the late Bronze Age). And this isn't just mythical stories Hollywood is race-swapping. Within the past couple of years the BBC gave us a black Anne Boleyn, Netflix gave us a black Queen Charlotte, and Amazon gave us a black King Edward VI.

Why are you bringing up Turks? Are you under the impression that the people of Troy were Turks just because it was in Anatolia?

All things being equal, I'd agree with you here. But all things are most certainly not equal.

If the incorrect skin color was applied to an African myth story, people like you would lose their ever loving minds. You know it. I know it. We all know it. You can deny it all you want, but we all know it's the absolute truth.

THAT is the point. There is a massive double standard, and has been for years now.
