I think it is no doubt the best movie we’ve had to include Peter Pan. Great cast. Great story. And Ruffio.

It’s great. Such a good coming of age film in a lot of ways. They did a great job bringing Neverland to life and being faithful to the source material while breaking new ground.

I try to watch this movie with an unbiased and open mind whenever it comes on but for the life of me I can't understand why this film was panned when it was first released back in 1991. This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters, so obviously it is going to give me some rose-colored glasses due to nostalgia alone. However, I just can't wrap my head around why Spielberg hates it so much. It really is a fun and entertaining movie. It's not without its flaws but I feel as if the people who made this back in the day are way too hard on it.

Spielberg basically viewed it as rushed, hated Julia Roberts, felt like they presented Neverland as a caricature, etc.

Williams crushed it. Hoskins crushed it. And Hoffman absolutely crushed it. I saw it in theaters as a 9 year old and I still watch it with my kid. I love Hook.

Love Hook.

Spielberg despises it. Julia Roberts was a terror on set and felt she didn’t get enough screen time. Spielberg also hated how Neverland looked in the movie.

There’s a quote where Spielberg basically says the movie wasn’t close to what his vision originally was for the story.

Hoffman steals the movie for sure.

Hoskins is also great in it and my favorite character.

The original cartoon version was the best imo. I think they’ve edited out the Indians now though. Hook was very good too.

I love this movie, but Julia Roberts is utterly atrocious in it.

Meg Ryan would have been a better choice.

Don’t forget about Glenn Close’s incredible performance.

And David Crosby. And George Lucas. And Carrie Fisher. And Phil Collins. And Jimmy Buffett. And the slutty mermaids.

Is that the one with Hugh Jackman? Or Jason Isaacs?

"Goodbye, Smee, and don't you dare try to stop me. Don't you dare try to stop me, Smee, try to stop me. Smee, you get over here right this instant and stop me!"

Not a verbatim quote but Hoffman's delivery of that bit is amazing.
