I really liked Frozen, but I would say it would be in the middle of the pack of that super run of movies from the mid 80s to mid 90s.

Lion King Beauty and the Beast Aladdin Little Mermaid All ahead of Frozen. Frozen was really good though.

I agree with this...I thought Frozen was well done. Nothing will ever beat Lion King

I really liked Tangled, too. I would say Frozen is a bit better, but that's not to slight Tangled at all.

I liked them both a lot but put frozen slightly ahead.

I always thought tangled was underrated.

Edit: (both have quirkily funny female leads)

Can't tell if serious or joking off the name...?

I'm very much an old school Disney (and I wanted them to keep doing cell, but looks like we lost that). I do think Tangled was better than Frozen. I think Up is the best animated movie Disney has been involved with since Lion King. And I think the Hunchback of Notre Dame is sorely underrated (for some understood reasons though). I don't rate Lion King that highly though, even though it is high quality, because of its rip-off status.

That's how I feel about The Aristocats and Fox & the Hound.

Matthew Broderick has said that when he was hired as the voice of Simba in The Lion King, he presumed the project was related to Kimba the White Lion.[10][11][12][13] "I thought he meant Kimba, who was a white lion in a cartoon when I was a little kid," said Broderick. "So I kept telling everybody I was going to play Kimba. I didn't really know anything about it, but I didn't really care."

The controversy has been referenced in a number of national newspapers in the United States, including a June 2007 Los Angeles Times article.[15] In the episode "'Round Springfield" of The Simpsons, a parody of the Lion King's Mufasa says to Lisa Simpson, "You must avenge my death, Kimba...er, I mean Simba!".
Zira, the antagonist in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride is a close resemblance to Bella Donna who claimed to be Kimba's aunt in the 1967 episode "The Hunting Ground".

phil harris made me think of the last two.

Frozen was good, but no.

I have a hard time giving it top ten.

Don't know if we are including pIxar/Disney in here, but my top will always be Finding Nemo. Just all around incredible. Can watch it 3 times in a row and it still is funnier on the third viewing. Honestly, I think it deserves the top for including a boat named 'The Surly Mermaid" alone.

If we are just going with Disney alone, Bambi will always be my favorite.

Lion King was ahead of its time. GOAT there will never be such a masterpiece.

It's a good unique story focusing on the unconditional love of siblings over the guy gets girl story.

This was a nice change.

I thought it's biggest flaw was that it didn't really have a villain. Disney is known for it's great villains (Evil Queen, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, etc.).
