One of Bale's best performances and Malkovich kills it. More somber and nuanced than PVT Ryan.

I'm sure most people would go with Jaws, Raiders and Schindler's List in whatever order.

Empire of the Sun is in his Top 10 though.

I’d say yes. Cinematography, character development, dialogues, monologues, storyline, emotional scenes, shots didn’t rely on CGI...it was all perfect.

One of my fav movies ever. And the soundtrack is also phenomenal.

Great movie, but no.

I'd go with Schindler's List.

For me? No. But it's definitely in my Top 10 as far as favorite Spielberg films go.

That kid singing made the Japanese officer cry.

“I can’t remember what my parents look like”.

Hard to argue with those 3, but Jurassic Park has to be up there too. Completely revolutionized special effects and they still look better than the sequels made 20+ years later

It’s great but Jaws is my favorite movie of all time by any director.

Theres just no way this is the best speileberg film... Not even close.

I found it fine, but not that great. I was not At all emotionally tied to the characters. It's also too long and has stretches where nothing really happens.

Not his best...but in his top 5. The parent reunion scene at the end is one of the most powerful scenes I've ever watched. To this day, I tear up just thinking about it. It was beautiful, and nearly perfect.

Spielberg's best film has been, is and will be Raiders if he lives to be 1000 and makes a movie every year.

Very good, but I'm not so sure about Spielberg's best, though.

Bale was terrific as the kid. Enjoyed the movie a lot.
