It will be interesting to see what response Doctor Strange gets. It will be another different one as well and will the Marvel luster start to fade a little.

I liked Guardians better than Deadpool.

Killz says it's weird watching you post out of character.

It's an unpopular opinion around here, but I agree with you. After all of the trailers and promos I saw for it, I felt like all the jokes were ruined. Also felt really forced.

It was meh for me.

I think there is a disconnect - I had no expectations and no investment in Deadpool as a character or comic property. I didn't really care much for Reynolds before - but I was so pleasantly surprised that I think a lot of this "overrated" talk is from the hype and heightened expectations.

It is not a "GOAT" candidate movie, by any stretch, but it stayed within itself, didn't try to do too much and they let Reynolds do his thing. While I don't think that approach, alone, will work for 2 to 4 more of these, it worked for me (and Mrs. Midnight) for this film, at least.

The really good news is that it broke (completely) the notion that a Rated "R" comic book film can't make money, so we might get a little more variety in the area as folks try to tap into that. On the other hand, it might be a tempest in a teapot. What products are really suitable for this treatment, from a comic standpoint - at least with any sort of built in fanbase?

Deadpool

Punisher

Judge Dredd

Batman

Wolverine

Beyond that, you get boutique, relatively unknown characters or villains.

Please, no more fricking Wolverine movies. We've already had 6 movies dedicated to the clawed trope.

With a 6', hulking gay Australian in the role, standing around towering over everyone. I give him an "A" for effort, but I've never taken his Wolverine seriously.

Why would you take any superhero character seriously?
