So, Shane Black, the director, wrote all these movies:

Iron Man 3 (screenplay)

2006 A.W.O.L (short) (as Holly Martins)

2005 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (screen story / screenplay)

1998 Lethal Weapon 4 (characters)

1996 The Long Kiss Goodnight (written by)

1993 Last Action Hero (screenplay)

1992 Lethal Weapon 3 (characters)

1991 The Last Boy Scout (screenplay / story)

1989 Lethal Weapon 2 (characters / story)

1987 The Monster Squad (written by)

1987 Lethal Weapon (written by)

Me thinks he is pretty much never talked about on this board. I tried to bold the certifiably awesome, even though its tough not to bold Last Action Hero.

Shane Black is very under-appreciated. Even Last Action Hero gets unfairly hated on. It was ahead of its time.

I like the first one before it pulls a Batman Begins and goes off the rails in the third act with the stupid arc thing and the boss battle with a bored Jeff Bridges.

Have we fallen to discussing lessons superhero movies teach to children? Come on. We aren't talking about fricking David the Gnome here.

Don't think I like these developments, not even a little bit.

Well I certainly won't disagree on that. Was watching on YouTube with my daughter the other day. Never realized the dad from happy days voiced David.

The first two Lethal Weapons were pretty good. The others I can take or leave.

I'm looking forward to seeing Iron Man but still I think Man of Steel is going to blow this out.

It was the worst of the 3 IMO, I really didn't like it and I really liked the other 2.

I don't think 3 was that bad.

In their defense, Carson, if you knew anything about the comics, you already knew that part of the plot.

I think they just didn't worry about hiding it. To the non comic reader, it looks glaringly obvious.

I don't think it took away from it. Hell, I even liked the second one.

Marvel and DC are going in two different directions with their movies. DC is shifted towards a more gritty/ real world approach, while Marvel has stuck very much with the comic book roots.

I'm looking forward to both, especially MoS.
