This week’s episode has a great scene that plays off of the criticism the show takes for the time between seasons. It’s really funny. You’ll know it when you see it.

The last 2 episodes have been excellent.

Looks like Allen is gonna break Logan out of the Viltrumutes jail in the finale.

It was, but I guess they forgot to mention why it had a multiple month midseason break after 4 episodes. I highly doubt the season wasn’t complete before Amazon released it.
The Guardians can barely handle a mid level threat at best? Why do they continue to focus so much on them, when the real threats would destroy them without blinking an eye? There seems to be a lot to handle in the season finale next week, I don’t know how everything will be covered before we have to wait another 2 years for a new season.

I love the show, but it is frustrating watching Mark get his arse beat over and over again. He kind of shows flashes of being more powerful. But he wasn't remotely close to the lady in this past episode. Is he just holding himself back, cause he doesn't want to kill people?

I would hope so, he probably doesn’t want a repeat of the battle with his father (which was awesome).

Yes and no. Mark has had his powers for less than two years and had very little training. If I'm not mistaken, viltrumites get stronger through trials -- kinda like saiyans. He has thousands of years to get stronger. He's a baby.

Anissa is 1000s of years old when Mark meets her. Of course she kicks his arse.

That makes sense.

There is a big moral dilemma that the show is proposing, as far as Viltrumite rule. What would be the down side? I'm not sure about the conditions or what they want in return for being our rulers. But if they massively improve and advance civilization, why wouldn't we accept their rule?

It's the whole live on your knees or die on your feet dilemma.

Can I just ssay, "I am so glad Amber is fricking gone!"

Now we can move to the the Mark and Eve arc. Much better.

The Amber story line needs to end. Tired of run time being wasted on that subplot.

Their proposal is 'recognize you can't win and surrender peacefully to enslavement, or we're perfectly happy to murder you all and strip your planet for parts, your choice'. They're not inviting Earth into an alliance. They're conquerors subjugating or extinguishing the weak, and the only reason they didn't show up blasting was they over-extended their Empire, and found it was a lot easier to send one Viltrumite to fringe worlds to soften it up to accept Viltrumite rule without a fight than to send their armies around forcibly invading everything from the get go.

Angstrom Levy's portaling around with a lot of good examples of what happens when you give in and when you don't up in that big arse head of his.

Is Amber really gone? I have a feeling she’s going to show up next week in the season finale, just to waste several minutes.
Eve seems to be pretty powerful, at least that’s what I got from her stand-alone episode last year. Between Eve and Invincible I think the both of them would have a chance against one Viltrumite.

I can't speak to what's in the books. But what would slavery to them look like? What would they get out of it? Would we be making things for them or just living by a certain code?

Anissa said they don't want to kill people. They can improve the planet, heal diseases, and eliminate starvation. This doesn't take into account all the other huge steps forward in education and technology. It seems like humans are a good base genetically for them to cross breed. So our whole civilization would be advanced beyond measure. All of that for us to obey them? That doesn't seem like a bad trade off. Or sound like a huge price to pay. But I don't know what all would be involved. Maybe there is something more sinister that I'm not seeing..

They're genocidal supremicists who murder everyone who stands against them as they try to conquer the galaxy. "We don't want to kill people' is really 'We don't want to kill people, but we'll frickin do it if you make us, so if you want to live, don't make us.' I can't imagine there's a good trade off to any of that.

That's what I'm asking about. What would be the conditions?

They are basically Gods. One could kill everyone on the planet. They could conquer us easily. But they are demanding us to serve instead, willingly. We all give up freedoms to live in an organized society. There are many trade offs and its a tiered society, as much as we don't like to acknowledge that fact (especially in many other countries).

I honestly don't see where they would get much from us or why they would bother. We are not much compared to them. But let's say they could cure all diseases/ailments, extend lifespans, solve pollution, give us an endless food supply, and advance technology eons forward. Wouldn't that be worth worshiping them?

Amazon has made this show nigh unwatchable with their cable tv quantity of ads unless you pay them that extra $3. frick em. Might have to just pirate this shite to avoid it.

The last few episodes have been so good it's like a minute or 2 of ads in an hour not a big deal.

Can't wait to get home for episode 8.

I don't know what to think about this past episode. It's frustrating watching people cry all the time. I just can't feel sympathy for Mark. He has the greatest gifts ever and he can't cope. I just don't get it. What are they trying to get us to feel?

Maybe it was just 5he long break midseason, but it felt a little incohesive. They crammed in a lot of storylines; Mark physically and mentally recovering, Angstrom, finding his dad, little brother, the sequids, Allen the alien arc, the space prison, Immortal’s mini-arc with Kate, a little Rex, Monster girl and robot boy, life at Upstate U,, lots of time on the gf. Everything was rushed and felt like all setup for the story we really want. I was Kind of like Mark in the Angstrom standoff when he was like, who are you again? Still enjoyed it, but didn’t hold up to the first season for me.
