Searched to see if this was posted here, but didn't see anything. You don't have to be the biggest Seinfeld fan. But this made my skin crawl. I knew political correctness had gotten out of hand, but not to the level these kids take it. Reading comments in the thread about Friends to see if it would hold up in our PC culture reminded me about this.

Do Teens & College Kids Think Seinfeld Is Funny? Does It Hold Up?

The whole waiting game in general has disappeared from the modern world. When Elaine is holding down the movie seats with absolutely no idea when they will be there...

It definitely holds up. It's just the insane PC culture backlash that I wouldn't have blinked at. Didn't realize it was that deep rooted. I think they balked at the Soup Nazi a bit because they couldn't believe they said Nazi. Like it was offensive, yet the whole thing is on a show named Seinfeld!

Giving his girlfriend tylenol PM instead of regular Tylenol so he could play with her toys (actual toys) was somehow rape culture.

The whole thing made me angry.

Watching Seinfeld’s Netflix Show Feels Like Visiting Your Racist Grandpa

This is how the alt-whatever now see Seinfeld. His comedy then and now is seen as anti-pc mansplaining.

quote:

These jokes, about the decline of male supremacy, Seinfeld makes the most of with his older, white male guests. In a music store with Carvey, Seinfeld reminisces about a joke he made about Paul McCartney at the White House in 2010. “I did a bit about ‘She was just 17 if you know what I mean,’” Seinfeld laughed, referencing the Beatles song McCartney wrote when he was 20. “I said, ‘I think I do know what you mean and I think there’s some law enforcement here in DC that might like to have a little talk with you about what you mean.”

Imagine being one of the most famous comedians in the world, being asked to go to the White House to entertain Paul McCartney and Barack Obama, having months to prepare, and then making a joke about statutory rape that you think is so funny, you repeat it eight years later.

Some people didn't think it was funny back then just like some don't think it's funny now.

Most think it's funny though. The person who writes those articles doesn't even know what a computer is.

I’d love to see Jerry perform at a place like Berkeley, assuming they would even allow that to happen.

I didn't start to actual think it was funny until I get older and was a few years out of college. I guess I just couldn't relate or really never sat down to watch it and pay attention.

This is why I HATE my cell phone. I cannot stand that these days if you don't pick up or respond to a text immediately people take it as some sort of personal affront. No dude, I'm not at your beck and call. I have my own shite to do. If it's not of immediate importance chill the frick out.

I'm not really concerned if the kids think it was funny or not. I realize it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm more posting the video out of the disbelief of how offended some of them get an ridiculous stuff. Like the episode where they all see who can go the longest without self love. When Elaine wants to join the bet and the others say it's not the same. Some of the kids say it's sexist to treat a woman differently.

Some of them see past those things even if they make a PC comment and just give their opinion. It doesn't bother me if they don't think it's funny. It's the comments about the PC nature of it that bother me so much. Like it's just their nature to determine if they can find something to complain about first and foremost.

What's sadder to me than SJW culture is the legions of people wasting their time bitching about SJW culture. Who really gives a frick what some teenager somewhere bitches about on twitter or the latest article on medium.com?

Someone needs to punch all of them in the face. How many times is up to them.

ETA - After watching the whole thing, Christopher and Luis can avoid the fist.

Because we lose the opportunities to see entertainers perform when they're PC-shamed out of jobs and careers.

I resisted a cell phone for years. I didn't want to be available 24/7. Email was bad enough.

Dude, I sent you an email 5 minutes ago, didn't you get it?

I did a summer exchange to Europe in H.S. I was gone 3 months. I wrote my family letters that took two weeks to arrive and I called them from a public phone in a bank - Once. In 3 months.

I can't imagine a parent these days handling that lack of connection because they raised kids with cell phones who could be reached at any moment. Nobody has to plan anything anymore.

When we used to go to the movies, our Mom would be like you have to be right here at 3:30 sharp for pick-up. There was no, call me when you're ready to be picked up.

The world is so different.
