Any recommendations on Netflix shows/documentaries that are both educational and well-produced?

Seems like Netflix's documentaries are focused on either war, wildlife, or crime.

The very few that don't fall into these categories have such low production values where it's a few guys talking only on the very basics of a subject and is a snoozefest. Hardly any structure or illustrations/CGI to expand on the dialogue.

I'd like to learn about some other interesting topics. Doesn't really matter what, just something different than the standard documentary.

Icarus is good. Netflix has kind of jumped the shark with sharply partisan “documentaries”. Amazon has too, but I think Amazon has a better selection overall

Added all 3 to my Netflix list.

What about anything on psychology, socialology, or business?

I watched his and literally had never heard a word of the entire saga.

How that shite isn’t in history books is beyond belief.

I feel the same way. I know a guy from Oregon originally who was living there during the events. He actually knew a guy that got sick from the restaurant incident. Crazy stuff.

What are you looking for? YT has Modern Marvels and many other great documentaries from the History Channel, PBS, BBC, and other sources.

I have thousands of YT docs bookmarked. I occasionally post some here, but as that thread gets virtually no response at all I don't put much effort into it.

We are watching Dark Tourist on Netflix, really interesting. Just skip the US episode (ep3), its awful for Americans, but he is from New Zealand so it might interesting to him.

The Dallas part of the episode was horrible. He is literally standing outside the incredible Sixth Floor Museum, and he decides to take some tour with some conspiracy theorist like it is the main attraction for those interested in the JFK assassination.

Watched "Bombshell" last night.
Found it very interesting.

Cliffs:
Hedy Lamarr was a very beautiful Hollywood starlet, appearing in multiple films from the '30s, '40s and '50s. She, according to the documentary, was also an amateur inventor and created the basic idea for all of the wireless communication of today, but was never paid a dime for her efforts.

Was that the one about the minor league team in Oregon? If so, it was very enjoyable.
