I would think since they made Vision black and white, he’s not truly dead

Just saw it. Amazing.

What's most amazing is it made me genuinely hyped for the next movie. I BADLY want to see Thanos get his arse whipped, but I have no idea how they're going to do it.

Every character that appears is phenomenal. Honestly can't find a blemish.

Yeah, that's unnecessary, but it also doesn't get in the way.

If I had to point out a problem, it's how many times they had opportunity to stop all of it.

Dr. Strange could've swallowed his "sworn oath" and destroyed the time stone.

Scarlet Witch could've destroyed the mind stone.

Gamora could've let her sister die.

If literally ANY of those happen, Thanos loses. It's like when Rose saves Fin at the end of TLJ. Da fuq are you doing? It's called a meaningful sacrifice! Let it happen!

Excellent question.

Although I have to trust him, because he viewed every possible outcome. He knew everything that could happen. My guess is, Iron Man has a key role in killing Thanos and he knew he had to be kept alive.

Although, he could've done the whole "glimpse at alternate futures" thing AS SOON AS HE HEARD ABOUT A GUY TRYING TO KILL HALF OF ALL LIFE.

As soon as I saw him do that I thought, "well shite, that would've been a nice tactic an hour and a half ago."

It’s probably safe to say he has similar longevity as the Asgardians themselves.

It’s a wide spread discussion that I buy into is that the movie timeline isn’t a coincidence.

Thanos has been biding his time and preparing for one singular event: when the Asgardians weren’t the dominant meddlers of the universe with the implicit statement that Odin could have kicked his arse even with some Infinity Stones with him.

When he heard Odin was out of power he started moving his pieces. It was shortly after Thor 2 that the conversation between Nedula and Gomora about the Soul Stone took place about him finally being ready and he is about to make a move.

Wouldn’t be surprised within an hour of Odin fading away did his ship set a course for Xandar and this is why this film is so tied with Ragnorok.

idk

That was. Pretty big boom she was dead center on.

And you’d think she’d show up on earth with the quickness if she could.

Pretty sure right after he learns about Thanks, he went to get Tony with Bruce. Very likely they were sure the Avengers could handle it. Then the attack on New York happened.

Plus his view of alternative futures likely included him using that trick. Thanos may not be as powerful as Dormamu but he also had a few stones when he and Strange met.

I think you're looking in the wrong direction...

Xandar was a very advanced civilization that was recently coming off a war with the Cree empire, so I'd assume they have decent military capacity.
Doesn't stop Thanos from wrecking them and taking the Power Stone.

Now granted, Xandar's military isn't impressive in GOTG, but I'm going to guess they were just spread out and unable to get back to contest the lone Kree ship (Ronan's) that came to attack. But following that attack, you would then expect they'd have some more precautions and defense of the planet.

So... Thanos could take out Xandar without the benefit of any Stones. Only had 1, when he first faced Thor, and beat Thor, Heimdall, Loki and the Asgardians.

Has 3 after taking the stone from the Collector.

Nobody beats him at that point, it's just a matter of time. Like Rocket said of Ronan, you just hope to get as far away as possible and die of old age before he gets to you.
I don't think he even tried to fight Thor at the end, he just played with his Gauntlet; he wouldn't fight the same way if he didn't already have everything.

The only way to "beat" him (by this I mean STOP him), apparently, is to let him have all of them. And I guess, that means to let him do his thing, and hope he has enough regrets to either undo it himself, or not go through with doing it again.

When little Gamora asks him what it cost, he said "everything". That sounds like he already has doubts. Who knows what the Soul and Mind Stones are doing to him?

Ok folks...I missed the first fifteen minutes or so due to a fricking car accident right in front of me on way to theater.

I came in at Thanos grabbing Thor by the head before Loki tries to stab him and bites the dust, ...can anyone please give me the cliff notes on what I missed?

TIA

The Maw was walking around the ship essentially telling everyone that they were lucky to have died at the hands of Thanos. Thanos starts talking to Loki and then Loki says, "But we have a Hulk!" Hulk roars in and start to beat the piss out of Thanos...and the rest of his children were going to help but Maw told then to let him have his fun.

Thanos then proceeds to whip the dog shite out of Hulk, to the point of unconsciousness. That's why Hulk was scared to emerge the rest of the movie, remember?

Thanos asks for the stone, Thor says they don't have it and of course Loki presents it to him. Somewhere in there Heimdahl summoned dark enery and created the bifrost and sent Hulk/Banner to Earth.

Think that about catches you up...

Sounds like you just missed the first two minutes.

The movie opens with the Asgardian ship already wrecked.

I guess the only relevant things you missed is Thanos knows Loki has the stone, which Loki gives up rather than seeing Thor killed and the Hulk jumps on Thanos and gets his arse kicked.
