Between Ragnarok and this movie, has Thor gone from least favorite to favorite character for anyone else?
Yup. It doesn’t get more bad arse than dropping into battle surrounded by a ball of lightning.
Also, I would bet Cap and Iron Man will die in part 2, the phase 2 heroes will be resurrected, and Thor will be the new leader. They seem to be building him to that.

Agreed. He’s easily gone to one of the most likable and bad arse leaders of the Avengers. I kind of wonder if that has anything to do with him being left out of Civil War? But after Ragnorok and IW, he’s easily a fan favorite at this point.

I would argue that Helmsworth has become about as synonymous and cemented as Thor, at least to me since watching Ragnarok and IW, as RDJ has become as Iron Man.
I think Helmsworth started out smaller, and less experienced than RDJ, but he has made tremendous ground since Thor 1. In terms of improving as an actor, Helmsworth has done the most. It helps that writers and directors finally started fleshing out Thor more in the films too, which allowed Chris his chance to really develop. The thing with RDJ is that he literally hit the ground running when he started as Tony Stark. Not to mention, Tony Stark is such a complex, and multi-faceted character, and this has given RDJ plenty of room to shine as an actor.
I really hope Helmsworth decides to stick it out as Thor for at least a two or three more films. He's really hitting his stride right now and would be a welcome face to keep around once a lot of the OG players start to phase out. Plus, we still need more Korg.

Is that one of the Skrull cows?

Is Korg still alive? I had the feeling that Thanos wiped out everyone on that ship outside of Thor, and that was only because he's apparently capable of surviving in the vacuum of space.

Honestly, I think that's the case for Marvel's entire cast and storytelling.
There's that idea that great TV show's really don't hit their stride until season 2 or 3, when writers REALLY understand the characters and actors finally feel comfortable playing them. So you're talking maybe 40 plus shows for traditional TV shows...so maybe 20 or more hours of playing/writing the same characters. Most movie franchises never get close to that, obviously, because they simply don't play the characters for that long or keep telling the same story.
Marvel has kind of done that here...and at this point it's humming like a well oiled machine. It's really pretty awesome to watch.

I think that Hemsworth had much better dialogue in IW than he had in Ragnarok. They went a little too far with the comedic shtick here and there, but this was Thor's best performance.
I don't think that it's a coincidence that Thor's best performance coincides with Hemsworth's first appearance in a Russo brothers film.

If we’re listing our nitpick issues, I didn’t like whatever Dinklage was trying to do with that extra scruffy voice. We know from GoT that he can be really good at portraying suffering, but that voice took me out of the moment.
I kind of wonder if he said yes to the role before realizing he was going to be a giant dwarf, felt it was condescending, but didn't want to give up the paycheck so he phoned in the performance kind of like he did w/his VO work for the game Destiny that was so bland they eventually released a patch w/a completely different actor doing the voice.
Or maybe he was just directed to act that way sort of like how the gods in the original Clash of the Titans act w/that semi ethereal Shakespeare-esque way which clashed w/how everyone else behaves more than the Russo Bros thought it would.

A little Dinklage goes a long way.

His voice seemed fine at first, but towards the ends of his scenes I felt like he was trying to project more. I just laughed because you could tell what he was doing.

Am I the only one that thinks the smaller role Captain America has, the better?

Thanos actually got pity from me. I kind of understand his point. Obviously death affects him. All those lives actually do put a toll on him. Gemorrah shows that he can care.
The part where she thought she killed him was pretty deep to me. He’s on the ground asking why and she’s on both knees in front of him crying thinking she has killed him.
Then the post smap scene when he talks to young Gemorrah, you could tell he was in pain

What do you have against Cap? Or is it a Chris Evans thing?

I just find him to be one of the least interesting characters in the group.

It is his right to hate America.

Any Saints fans (or NFL fans) get reminded of Drew Brees when they see Capt America?
Maybe it's just me, but the wholesome, clean-cut, confident leader vibe Steve Rogers gives off makes me think he is just missing a birthmark mole on his face.

Also, wish they would change Captain Marvel's name. It's just so terrible, and makes her sound like a joke character.

Steve Rogers would never shill for a pyramid scheme like Brees does w/Advocare.
