I’m also a little unclear on the gauntlet at the end. It sort of crushed after he snapped his fingers and it isn’t in his dream or his paradise. Where’d it along with the stones ago? Didnit even make it?

Agree. The snap of the gauntlet didn't eliminate half the life on each planet. It eliminated half the life in the existing universe. And if this is the case and if it were random, is it possible some planets life forms were almost completely obliterated?? And some planets life forms had minimal loss?? And if this is the case, then wouldn't this give war faring races like the Skrull or Kree the advantage if their planets were not hit as hard as their enemies?
Or was Thanos soon tuned with the cosmos, via the gauntlet, that he subliminally eliminated the proper portion for the each galaxy which would endure harmony?
And was it sentient life forms or life forms?? Shouldn't half the trees and plants be dead??

I think he eliminated half of all life in the universe, but didn't necessarily do so on each planet/setting. Some were spared to a greater extent, some were decimated.
Yeah, any population that earned his respect, I think he left half of them alive. If they cowered and didn’t put up a fight, then he wiped them out completely thinking someone else would do it anyway and they weren’t worthy of this universe. Humanity earned his respect though.

Really?

According to the comic book, yes. The mind and soul stone basically connect the wielder to every sentient life form in the universe, known or not.

Sentient. "Soul."

Drax disappeared, I thought his world was hit by Thanos already. You'd think if he exempted those already culled, Drax would have been spared. The fight was over.
I think the only people Thanos consciously spared were Stark and Nebula. Other than that, he did a 50/50.

And I suppose we can assume Thor gets Stark and Nebula from Titan.
The Guardians ship is there.

Not true or he would have left Quill.

He made no vow to spare him. He made a vow to spare Stark and Nebula though.

My impression, and somewhat based on comic books, is that The Infinity Stones did not grant dimensional jumping. This is one of the few powers Dr Strange has over the stones. I mentioned it before, but how that fits into the Dark Dimension or the Nine Realms is unclear. But I think the Lords of the MCU threw the whole dimension deal under the bus already with the Thor movies

Will we ever know what happened to Xandar?? Did Thanos destroy the entire population? Half the population? The entire planet?
Was Guardians 1 all for nothing????
It sure sounds like Xandar is gone. I read in one of the Russo’s interviews that they didn’t show Thanos on Xandar because they felt it was unnecessary and would take up too much time. So I guess that’s farewell to Steve Brule

This much is true and I should know this......

You only said sentient because I said it first! That's cheating, but well played man. Well played

Stormbreaker has its own bifrost

As I mentioned, the entire premise of Guardians of Galaxy 1 is irrelevant. Not that I'm bashing, sometimes that happens in life.

I bet dat shite has bluetooth too.

Why are you picking on that one movie? Black Panther is now irrelevant. Avengers 2 is irrelevant. Spider-Man Homecoming is irrelevant. GotG2 is irrelevant. You just had half the superheroes and half the universe die.

Got out and watched the movie again today.
A few minor nits/questions:
1) What did Cap say at the end, was it "oh god?"
2) How did Cap and Team end up in Scotland so quickly?
Was it basically that they were trying to track down Scarlet Witch since she had been "out of contact" for too long?
3) Heimdall's hero moment was really small. But he said something like, "one last channel of dark energy". What's that a reference to? Was his ability to see and open the Bifrost linked to dark energy?
The movie still holds up well and is damn funny. I did find the opening to be a lot slower the second time around. Really impressed with how they pulled this off.
4) So clearly there's going to be a reset of some sort. How far back do we think this reset will go?

Interesting that they end up together on Titan at the end.
