Screencrush has been garbage for years. They did a 25 worst South Park episode list, and I swear I’d confuse it for the 25 best episodes. Just SJW garbage that said any majorly politically incorrect episode wasn’t funny.

My top 5 are probably:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy
2. Thor: Ragnarok
3. Infinity War
4. Winter Soldier
5. Iron Man

I can't see Infinity War being below #3 in any list of "top MCU films".

Figure that most people have a favorite hero, so that hero's best movie- up/near the top.

Throw Avengers up there, simply the first legit mega-movie of the superhero era (there are other "team" movies, but those were always teams- F4, X Men etc).

Maybe substitute GOTG in for one of the above.

Then there's Infinity War, which is just such a massive epic that changes the rules for the genre.
This is a huge fricking movie, right off the bat. Nothing small or halfway at all, all huge. On top of that, it blows DC's attempts at "darkness and death" away-
Huh, Thanos really does love Gamora. WOW, he just tossed her off the cliff with tears on his purple face as she screams "no".
Watching Scarlet Witch take Vision out in a last-ditch effort to win. Then have that tossed back in your face.

Then watching the others go- most were a little surprising; figured Black Panther would watch his sister go, not the other way around.
Guardians go, all of them (Rocket being the exception), was upping the ante. Figured Dr Strange would at that point.
Spiderman, though ; that broke my heart.

No matter what, Tony can't go back now. He can't live out his life with Pepper (assuming she's still alive) after watching Peter fade away like that. That was his boy, blood or not.

head-scratching moments

General question: I know she's very powerful, but is Scarlet Witch so powerful that she can destroy an Infinity Stone? I assumed (from comic books and I think mentioned in a few previous movies) that they could not be destroyed. Which is why they were hidden throughout the universe. I don't remember what Vision said to her when he explained that she can destroy it and maybe that will clarify things for me.

But if she can destroy the Infinity Stones, then wouldn't that pretty much make her the most powerful being in the universe? And why didn't she just destroy the other stones when she was confronted by Thanos???

I think it was a case of she could only destroy the mind stone since that is what gave her those powers.

She sure destroyed that accent that she had in the previous two films. She got Americanized quickly.

He said that she could turn the stone's power back on itself. She didn't have the power to destroy it, but her hex powers can turn objects' powers back on themselves.

Well since her power is the hex, then she does have the ability to destroy any and all the stones..................

Just saw the movie, pretty damn good! However there were a few grips that I had that is no where near what other people had.

First the confusion with hulk.

1. Hulk got beat in a straight up fist fight, he got scared and don't want to face down any of Thanos crew. His mindset is that of a child.

2. The reason why Cap doesn't have his shield is because this is part 1. Part 2 when he has his round shield you will see him with a "power up"

3. Thor new weapon. I guess they are trying to really push Axe-Thor in both medium.

4. Everyone who dies will be brought back, Infinity Gauntlet is a walking mcguffin. So let the people know who are upset that Tom Holland and other dies that it'll be fine.

In fact tell them that they should thank their lucky stars Tom Holland Spiderman died the way he did cause in the comic Thanos took a spear punch it through his skull and then pinned him to a wall to hang.

Now on to the god part. They actually made Thanos likable. I was surprise, I never liked the purple bastard due to his obession with Death. However, a Father-Daughter bond is actually very humanizing.

Anyone else caught how Thanos instinctively got in front of Gomora when Red Skull showed up?

I do however had wish to see Xandar razed to the ground and the nova Corp destroyed.

So now, we are waiting for the Superman of the MCU to show up aka Captain Marvel, the only one that Rival Thanos and have always kept him in checked.

Fun fact, she is also a proud member of the LBGT.

Now a Question for those that saw it.

Was the Starlord scene with THanos as bad as the Martha scene? Remember they had Thanos dead to right, Ironman was like telling Starlord not to do it and pleading with him cause they almost had the gauntlet off.

How cringy was it compared to the Martha scene?

Saw it last night. I thought it was fantastic. The humor was great without being overdone. The Russo's always know how to film a fight that's fun to watch. Cant' wait for the next part.

Starlord got hit with the idiot stick, but that scene isn't in the same universe as "Martha".

It’s not even in the ballpark. Dumb, sure, but he’s going to want to murder him for that. Martha makes no god damn sense at all and what I would mockingly say in the writer’s room when Snyder asks why Batman wouldn’t kill Superman.

But even if they got it off, what then? I guess Strange could have teleported it somewhere else, but that’s it. I think the only Avenger who could possibly use it is Thor.

Damned impressive. Amazing body count/victim list.

Gamora, Hemidall & Loki are permanent casualties since they were physically killed. I have to think Vision is as well, although it's possible the Mind Stone could be put back after the stones are removed fro the Gauntlet in 2.

Thor was great, but Thanos/Brolin definitely shined the brightest in the movie. Will definitely be seeing it again.

That was strange. If you are going to loss your shite against Thanos lose it after the gauntlet is off. It was OOC compared to his portrayal in GOTG.

That was a great move on Marvel's part

Especially, considering Marvel's current concept of Death is different than the 70's Starlin version. Plus you avoid having to explain it. I think the Celestials are as high concept as Marvel is willing to go.

What does the end scene of Thanos seeing Gamora as a child again represent? What was that about?

I think it’s bigger than that... I think that was showing that the soul stone is consuming those it is responsible for killing... which is why the heroes disentigrated once he snapped his fingers instead of just falling dead

And also shows the avenue in which we get them back

Um, no Carol Danvers and Scott Lang are a couple in the comics.

She's also been involved with James Rhodes, Sam Wilson, and a couple of the X-Men.

She doesn't get around as much as She-Hulk but she definitely drives stick.

It's nowhere near the Martha scene. It's not even on the same planet really.

Star Lord has never shown himself to be a mature character at all. He is prone to acting out of anger. He does it in both GotG movies. Also, the ways he has saved the day are clearly massive (excuse the semi pun) ego boosters. In GotG1 he wins pretty much b/c he can hold the stone due to being part Celestial. His big plan was to distract Ronin via dancing. In GotG2 he wins b/c he has friends to save his arse. He only gets the skills to go HAM on Ego b/c the dude tells him "I killed your mom b/c I loved her too much. Thems the breaks when you want to make the perfect universe lol!" It makes sense within the multi film narrative that he would react like a moron and screw everything up. He doesn't even initially take Gamora seriously when she tells him he needs to kill her if she is captured by Thanos.

Martha in Batman vs Superman didn't work b/c it wasn't earned by the script. Batman's mother's name isn't exactly well known and briefly mentioning it at the start of the film doesn't make up for the fact that this Batman gives zero indications that her mere mention is enough to stop him in his tracks. What we are shown of this iteration of Batman is he is depressed, possibly an alcoholic, and is so far over the edge he doesn't think twice about killing anyone he considers an adversary or threat. The dude is launching rockets at guys who are probably just hired goons (who you can have no sympathy for sue but remember Rocky Balboa was a hired goon once too). If you're lucky, this Batman will just brand you after beating your arse senseless. Bruce Wayne in BvS is the kind of guy Christian Bale's Batman would hunt down and imprison for being too extreme. At no point does he show himself to be so sentimental that hearing his mother's name will turn him from a vigilant intent on murder to a guy that goes "Oh shite, your mom is named Martha too!?! Let's form the Super Friends and fight crime together!!!"

To sum things up, Starlord is has always been an emotional reactionary so his reaction works w/in the world built for the MCU while in BvS Batman was in serial killer mode which makes him getting stopped cold by the name Martha feel implausible. Perhaps if there had been a couple movies where we connected with Martha Wayne to set up the BvS Batman "Martha moment" and/or to also fully explore why and how far Batman had fallen it could have made more sense but since WB decided to rush their way into a Justice League set up it was totally corny and insulting to the audience.
