i've tried to watch KOTCS but it's cinematography took me out of it. just could not deal with it

Okay, I'll be objective.

I didn't mind the fridge. Its a funny meme, and I know its ridiculous, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Indy joining OSS in WW2 is 100% plausible and likely, too.

And I'll give you almost everything up to the waaaaaay toooooo looooong swordfight scene on the cars through the jungle.

But after that, the movie was crap. CRAP. It ruined it. The entire last act was one of the worst I've ever seen. Ever. Dude Wheres My Car had a better final act.

Lets not forget that Indy has always had strong supporting characters. Marian and Salaah in Raiders, Shorty in Doom, and Marcus and his Dad in Last Crusade. The supporting cast in this sucked. (I'm talking to you, Shia.) That was a terrible miscast.

I don't care if they want to turn Indy into a James Bond type franchise and recast the role. Indy's a lot of fun, and theres a ton of stories to be told in the genre. I even like Chris Pratt's name being thrown around.

But you:
- A) have to cast it correctly.
- B) have to keep George Lucas away from it. Lets face it, George needs to never get behind a camera again. I appreciate what he's given us and we will owe him forever as his creations live long beyond him. But staaph.

I don't get the hate for it either. Easily better than Temple of Doom. I've read a few books by the guy that wrote Skull, and it was just like his other stories (all of which were enjoyable) - and having Indy attached just made it that much better. I'd continue seeing Indy movies of similar quality as long as they would churn them out.

I hated Indy not being Indy. I mean it started great when the silhouette appeared and he put on his hat, it faded quickly when he started talking about her speech - the Indy of before would be spitting mad at this point. Too many characters too. Was Ox necessary? Was the kid really necessary? The CGI was totally unnecessary - Game of Thrones has proven that less is better - much, much better.

either Ox or Mac should have been Sallah.

if Ox had been Sallah it would have made sense why Indy was so hell bent on saving him.

if Mac had been Sallah it would have come as a genuine shock that he would betray Indy rather than being one of the most telegraphed bad guy turns I've ever seen in a film.

instead we got two characters that we had never seen but were expected to believe they were some of Indy's best friends.

hell, even bringing back a character from Young Indiana Jones like an ultra old Remy or getting the kid that played Short Round would have been better.

This is one of the many reasons I cannot stand the Game of Thrones tv show. The pisspoor portrayal of the direwolves, my favorite part of the books, turned me off immediately. I love CGI in movies - it makes for a far better experience to me. I can rarely tell if it is actual CGI. Someone mentioned the prairie dogs being CGI - I thought they were real. I think most people who rant against CGI have no idea what they are talking about.
