I guess since we didn’t go to the moon, there weren’t any Nazis either.

Clint Eastwood understood this. As he got older he took roles that highlighted his age, which handicapped his character accordingly. I think his last truly physical role was the movie Blood Work, which was released in 2002. In that film, his character was suffering from heart problems and couldn't keep up as a result.

Great another movie with Nazis that beats you over the head with political preaching.

There were large amounts of Nazis recruited for the US space program. And a few of them did dabble in heavy nazi mysticism and committed some atrocities against Jews. That's not really to be disputed.

100% chance that happens. They did it in the Netflix series Luke Cage, of course the Nazis are going to mirror what the Hollywood activist community thinks of their political enemies.

The Hollywood writers are social justice activists and we all have to participate in their game where they call themselves the "good guys" and everyone who disagrees with them are the "bad guys".

There's not a more self-important group of people on earth than the ones in Hollywood writers rooms in 2022.

But it's worse than that. Hollywood has always had a fairly high ratio of lefties. The red scare drove them underground for about 10 years from the mid-50s to the mid-60s. And, smug, self-righteous lefties, I might add.

The difference between then and now was that working writers, directors and actors back then generally had to have talent. There is SO MUCH content being produced today with the shelf life of milk that there just isn't enough talent to go around. So, whereas everybody brought something to the game, whether they were working on 2001, Maverick, Taxi, Cheers, etc., nowadays a show or film is lucky if it has 1 writer with any talent at all.

As an exception, HBO seems to draw talent (look no further than Succession), but across the board it seems like the dilution of the talent pool is deep and wide. (ETA: I guess my point is, "modern" cinema, whether it be films or shows, substitutes "The Message" and/or diversity for diversity's sake for quality.)

Are the Nazi's MAGA? That's what they'd want you to believe.
