I think to reboot Indy, you would be better off doing some prequels.

Harrison Ford mailed it in the last movie.

Do we really need to see a 75 year old Indy? If we have to at least make him like Old Indy in Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and not an action star.

Looks like a 2nd opportunity to doubly ruin Indiana Jones. Is Indiana Jones now going to be a transgendered non-white woman?

Are there any action movies with a really old lead that have been good? Clint Eastwood did In The Line Of Fire where he played an ornery old secret service agent and that wasn't bad, but it's really hard to pull of a believable old action hero.

Sorta similar.

What about this...

Indy as a young man. He's what, early 40s in the trilogy during the late 1930s? What about some early adventures when he is around 20 right before WW1, say 1912? There's a little room to work with there regarding age and time. I can't remember the date of a young Indy in Utah at beginning of Last Crusade.

Great historical time period, very interesting. Allow us a look at an Indy as a young man. Put him in the Ottoman Empire or the Balkans right before WW1. Or put him in Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution or the Russian Civil War.

I really liked the opening to Last Crusade when River Phoenix was a young Indy.

If they are going to actually make a 4th Indiana Jones movie that is what I would prefer. Harrison Ford as Indy in his prime is iconic. No one wants to see 75 year old Harrison Ford try to pull it off. It's sad. But, we do not have an attached image of a young Indy other than Phoenix. And I think his 15 mins is just short enough to cop. Phoenix as young Indy was good, but it's not iconic simply because he only portrayed him for 15 mins.

If my choices are:

- Harrison Ford as 75 year old Indy

- recasting Indy in his prime

- recasting Indy as young man

I would choose the last one.

Ford like most of the older actors has become very singular in his performances. Same as Pacino post scent of a woman.

They could always bring back River Phoenix. He hasn't aged a day since the last one he was in.

And it's pretty easy to do since Chris Pratt has played a young Indy type character in GotG already

Based on his piloting "skills", the odds of that are decreasing every day.

Chris Pratt is like 37. Anyway, they're gonna ruin Han Solo, may as well cast the same kid in a Indy prequel. I would bet it would be better than this horrible idea.

Why not just start an entirely new series that is like Indiana Jones?

I'll probably pretty hard in theaters if he has any flying scenes in this film
