When a group of teens takes a locket from a collapsed fire tower in the woods, they unwittingly resurrect the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime. The undead killer soon embarks on a bloody rampage to retrieve the stolen locket, methodically slaughtering anyone who gets in his way.

My third most anticipated movie of the year behind Nosferatu and Longlegs. Ive seen both great and awful reviews of the movie and I know a movie that follows the killer instead of the victims is a new concept. I just cant wait to see the result, and hopefully we might have a new iconic figure in horror history.

Man the acting of the guys telling the story was a couple of kids and an iPhone level bad

Anybody going to see it this weekend?

Saw it yesterday. Loved every minute of it. I know people won’t like the pacing of it, but I enjoyed it. It’s good to see horror directors think outside of the box. Plus, the kills are pretty impressive. Given the amount of horsesh#t out right now and pretty much all year, it was good seeing a movie that was outside of the normal tripe.

I'm sure it's not a similar story at all (lol), but for some reason the loose concept and those images remind me of Timecrimes, circa 2007.
BTW, as an aside, Timecrimes is a low budget, dark sci-fi thriller. If you have any interest in that description at all, just watch it for free on tubi (subtitled). Do not watch the trailer, and don't research it, because you can easily spoil the entire movie.

Not to hijack your topic, but I hadn't heard about this one until you mentioned it. I love a vampire movie, and I imagine Bill Skarsgard and Willem Dafoe will make it a good one.

I loved it but went in with pretty reasonable expectations. I could see many setting an unrealistic bar for a slasher film
