I’m surprised she never comes up in the talks about terrible tv wives and girlfriends. I remember her being desirable but the rewatch makes me hate her. Just watched the first episode of season 3. She walks out on Joe to go do music in NYC. She doesn’t call for 10 months. Joe goes to rescue her from a strip club. She gets back and finds out he moved on with another girl. Drives her Jeep into his office And destroys it. That’s some next level crazy right there.

I love Wings, but it's actually dark comedy. All the characters are pretty awful and pathetic.

Joe and Brian were both cucked by the same woman, and can barely keep Sandpiper in business.

Fay is a sarcastic old hag who only works for them because she was forced into early retirement as a flight attendant.

Roy's airline is successful, but his insecurities make him so bitter and judgmental, he can't get close to anyone, including his ex who he still pines for.

Antonio is a hard-luck immigrant who gets shite on constantly by his so-called friends.

Casey got dumped by her rich husband, and no longer has any self-worth.

Lowell might be the least cynical of anyone, and even he considers suicide because his whore wife Bunny won't stop cheating on him.

Helen was a fat kid from Texas with no self-esteem from the start. Even her beloved cello lets her down. Being a cute, petite blonde is just a front for her resentful and angry personality. I don't believe she or the other characters were meant to be desirable.

We watched it a couple of years back. I had seen enough of it previously, but out of order when USA would run a few episodes each day.

Kind of the same vein as Seinfeld/sunny to a lesser extent where all the characters are flawed/dickish/self centered. I wish THC would have stayed for the entire run

Remember laughing that Roy conned them into digging a hole for his new hot tub or whatever? Just highlighted how they all felt about each other.

Have to remember that this was not written to be binged. Like Seinfeld and most sitcoms, it came across much lighter when you were only watching once a week, at most.

i mean that’s a weird topic anyways but I’m really having a hard time drumming up any hate for a 30 y/o sitcom.

Where’s the hate thread for Aunt Bee?

My bad, I didn’t know we couldn’t talk about older sitcoms. Out with Seinfeld discussion and in with The Equalizer staring Queen Latifa.

Reveled in the horrible luck of the Hacket brothers.
Spent an entire episode ruining every group get-together that he could.
Had a complete chronological library of Playboy magazines in his office.
Stole Pavarotti’s overcoat from his ex-wife’s party.

There is a quote from a sitcom or movie that I can't remember or find:

"Black Dude: I'll be watching you like white people watch wings."

Carlton Blanchard is one of the all-time infrequent recurring sitcom characters. Das Plane is a great episode.

She wouldn't have gotten off so easy post 911.
