South Park
Dazed and Confused

I would kill myself without South Park Dazed and Confused is just an easygoing, fun movie with infinite rewatchability, and an amazing soundtrack. If those were the only two things I could watch for the rest of my life, at least I'll be in a good mood and have a sense of humor.

Impossible

Favorites change with age.

I'd bet if you picked a movie in your 20s by 40 you'd be wondering... What is this stupid shite I'm watching?

You'd have to have incredible foresight...pick a classic that changed cinema and made sense later in life...an artistic achievement so it could be appreciated and studied beyond entertainment value at the moment.

The Simpsons is a great choice. Massive amounts of episodes.

Dirty Harry for the movie, maybe

To go against the grain for TV:
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Massive amounts of episodes and you get to find places to eat in whatever area you're traveling.

TV would have to go with Dr Who or Masterpiece theater on PBS. Tons of episodes. Both shows change up a lot.

Movie I would go with The Searchers, Band of Brothers, Mini series, or Ben Hur.
