I have never and will never watch Brokeback Mountain, just like I have never and will never watch The Human Centipede and I have never and will never watch the 2016 abomination called Ghostbusters.

You mean you've never watched a movie where one person shits in another person's mouth?

Don't knock it 'til ya tried it is all I gotta say.

I prefer some sort of vehicle for the shite to be eaten from, a la 2 Girls 1 Cup.

But different strokes for different folks I guess.

Seriously I felt it was overrated.

It’s a pretty good movie. IMO it received extra praise because it was about a gay relationship and it used two popular actors who were willing to make out and dry hump on screen, risking their masculinity.

Good acting. Some real heartfelt moments, especially at the end. But I felt the story was poorly developed and told. There’s two guys working a camp together for a while, isolated, then one night one rough fricks the other. Not much buildup. No meaningful development to how we got there.

This sort of just happens and carries off and on through the years. Lot of opportunity to mine some good emotions, some good development, go deep in the character (no pun intended). But it never happens. It’s a story that’s thin in execution and shouldn’t be. It just scratches the surface.

Those are 3 very different movies to lump together in the never watch category.

I recall it having a good deal of build up, but it's been a while since I've seen it.

This thread so far:

Two pages of guys making sure that everyone knows that they are not gay... after clicking on a Brokeback Mountain subject title.

This. And had PSH not just killed the role of Capote, Heath Ledger @ 25 years old would have won Best Actor (although Joaquin gives him a run with Walk the Line)

I do think so much of the movie lies in what wasn't said, inner turmoil. 2 people who are constantly told not to talk about their feelings for multiple reasons

Agreed. Great film. The acting is fantastic.

I have to laugh at all the downvotes for people calling it a great film, most of those downvoting I'm sure can't get past themselves to actually see it.

Should we tell them you get to see tiddies from both Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway?
