I purchased HBO Max a few years ago through Amazon Prime. Reason I purchased it through Amazon Prime was because I thought it would be cool to have as many streaming apps as possible under one app.

I could not believe how awful and shitty the app was as far as content.

A few days ago, I decided to check out the max standalone app just to see if it was any different.

I’m blown away at the amount of content on the main standalone compared to the max app through Amazon Prime.

I thought for sure they would have been identical but it’s actually a lot different.

From what I have heard from someone who had HBO max through Prime is that it’s the same exact amount of content but the way Amazon displays everything, it makes it look and seem like HBO Max doesn’t have shite to offer and that the navigation of the ball on prime is not user friendly and doesn’t display stuff to discover like the actual main app does.

I just thought this was interesting in case anyone on here watches HBO max through Amazon Prime.

I feel like a kid in a candy store now scouring through the main HBO Max app

frick Prime. Feel like I’ve been getting ripped off by them after years of using it for hbo max

I get if free with my phone service I love it you can basically watch any series HBO has ever had on it and it has all kinds of different genre's to choose from. Now I can watch all my GOLD RUSH series from the discovery channel for free too. NO commerials.

HBO Max has greatly improved since it first came out. The best streaming app by far.

I feel exact opposite about max, although I’ve had it for years with my internet service. There’s plenty of fantastic hbo shows that most us have seen. They rarely have anything new on there, outside of the aforementioned gold rush type shows which I don’t give a shite about. You can not check that app for a month and come back and the only new movie will be step brothers

Prime is like a public bus....lot of standalones but they gotta get everyone on board.

So the interface will be limited,, especially when you're on Prime for the add-on channels... Because, Prime is really just a platform for a conglomerate.

I like Max much less now that it has been merged with Discovery. If anyone knows a way to hide all of the discovery content and only show HBO content I would be very pleased to hear it.

There's an HBO tab at the top.

Doesn't matter much. They've been starving HBO of new content. It's not the same service it used to be. They ruined it when they combined it with all the rest of the trash.
