Why is Tables so funny?
It is the most obnoxious and stupid sketch premise and set up and it shouldn’t be as funny as it is. But it’s perfect. I’m laughing like a moron right now. I woke one of my kids up.

They’re goosed.
It’s not a bad sketch but it is a poor man’s Baby of the Year.

Based on a couple interviews I’ve seen I could see either a Detroiters revival or a new sitcom getting green lit on Netflix
Think Sam Richardson has talked about how disappointed they were with how they got canned, and Tim said when he’s doing sketch comedy he wants to be doing long form and Vice versa so I could see him wanting to try out another more structured show before season 3.
Seems like a no brainer given how much near dead IP that’s getting revived for all these small time streaming services. I know detroiters didn’t have a huge following, but at this point I think Tim Robinson has enough of one that you could build a real show out of it that people actually watch

Vulture - Tim Robinson Is Sorry For Yelling
Great write-up.
The GQ interview has the best ending
quote:
Robinson’s comedy is driven by characters squirming in awkward situations before doing whatever it takes to get out of them. And while his characters struggle to wiggle free, Robinson recently found himself in an unusually advantageous position. He had walked into a bar wearing a bright and colorful Nike jacket—so striking, and perhaps so out of character, that a man he’d just met decided to roast his fashion choice. Big mistake. Huge. Unlike the incident with his wristwear, Robinson wasn’t willing to back down so easily this time. Because what the man didn’t know was that the jacket was a gift from Robinson’s young daughter. A lesser man might have been embarrassed. But Robinson, like many of the characters he plays, refused his helping of embarrassment and decided to weaponize the gift. “Now I have a one-up on you: you're going to feel bad about saying that,” he recalls thinking. He shouted back: “My daughter gave me that!’” Sure, he was wearing a particularly garish jacket. But for the moment, at least, Tim Robinson had the upper hand.
ITYSL sounds like Tim’s daily life

Ohhh I’ve got a new theory
This guy is also
After the first incident he became obsessed with office pranks which finally lead to this HR visit where even he seems confused as to how they got to that point. Also seems keen on just being home with his family and will do anything to get sent home to do so

Love it.
We can do some deep dive fan theories.
I’ll get started on my rewatch. The entire both seasons is just 3 hours.

The best part about that sketch from S1 is you can see after the initial freak out he realizes in his head that if he plays his cards right, he can get sent home. So he starts it up again
Then eventually he asked to go home and they agree and he pauses for a second like he went “oh wow I can’t believe this worked”

fricking babysitter absolutely fricked is.
It was a hit and run.
The cops said don’t worry about it. It’s like the people she hit weren’t really people so it’s no big deal.
