I regret that my movie recommendation generated this level of rudeness.

Thanks for posting. I'm a little less discouraged about seeing it now.

I wouldn't watch this movie for free.
Anne Hathaway as an astronaut or even a pseudo astronaut is so beyond believable I couldn't get past it.

it's being distributed the old fashioned way with film stock.
Probably trying to thwart digital piracy as long as possible, even though iphone cameras are pretty good now.
a lot of theatres are setup for digital projection and have cannibalized there old film projectors, that might wind up being a problem.

On a scale of 0-100 how much above 100 would you rate it?

Foster would be most credible, then Bullock a distant second.
Swank and Hathaway would be as credible as Christie Brinkley. Terrible

Movie critics have compared Interstellar to Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey.
Interstellar is more tangible than 2001. BUT, at least 2001 has a "villain", i.e. the HAL computer. There's no "classic villain" in the film Interstellar. There's no character, monster or machine that takes up half or all of the film trying to kill the protagonist.
So, it's not an "action sci-fi movie" like Star Wars or Star Trek Wrath of Khan or Terminator. It's more tangible than 2001, BUT, there's no machine or other villain spending a great deal of plot-time trying to kill the protagonist.
Some viewers might not like Interstellar's lack of classic story-line structure of "Protagonist vs. Antagonist followed by Conflict with and Defeat of Antagonist". Interstellar's structure is more complex.
Sometimes in literature, you have the "Man vs. Nature" plot with Nature as the Antagonist. So, it's obvious to people who never plan to see Interstellar that Space itself is going to be an Antagonist in the plot. It's obvious that the challenges of space travel is going to be an Antagonist and maybe THE Antagonist of this movie, sight-unseen.
But, is "Space as Antagonist" exciting enough to please the "sci-fi/action/thriller" crowd?

I am very much looking forward to reading everybody's thoughts about the movie after people have had a chance to see it. I look forward to some thoughtful comments.

Does it have the obscure ending like everyone is predicting or does it have a concise finite ending?

Got two reserved seats for the north dallas IMAX on Friday night.
I love space travel/exploration movies. My wife is going to hate it.

2001 A Space Odyssey has a very obscure ending! I'm glad that you remind everyone of this.
The conclusion of Interstellar's story is not like that.
2001 is so very symbolic and intangible. Interstellar avoids being symbolic, intangible and obscure.

She may not hate it. The protagonist's family is a very nice family and they are involved in the story as much as anyone. They are the Coopers.
