With his almost 20 years on the Chicago Police Department before becoming an actor, he carried good credibility as a cop OR an organized crime figure.

I am saying this with no BS, I legit believe Farina should have won an Oscar for Get Shorty.
It's legitemetly one of the best comedic film performances I've ever seen.
The film itself is also maybe the.ost underrated movies of the 90s. I still think it's Travolta's best movie and character behind only Pulp Fiction.

I didn't know this and it explains why I got a sense of legitimacy from him in a lot of his roles. He was definitely a quality actor

Generally the best thing in whatever he was in.
