I don't know many wealthy mixed race girls who yammer on about "white privilege" to a guy who she doesn't know anything about and who is basically getting physically f'd up nightly fighting crime in bad parts of town. Your grasp on reality is interesting.

It is when they want my money for their fairy tale.

did it ever cross your mind that maybe she wanted him to do "more" because he wasn't doing anything at all compared to his dad's level. perhaps because his top priority was being batman?

Did it ever occur to you that what he does with his money is none of her business? Especially as someone who's never even met him and has no reason to ask anything of him?

Your view of this is a huge problem facing our country today.

These same folks had an epic melt fest about Jim Gordon being a black guy before the movie even released so it’s not surprising to me at all.

That isn't Jim Gordon. Jim Gordon is white. It's racist and insulting to him that they put him in a role that no one ever was going to remember him for.

Think Harvey Dent in Batman 89. No one will ever think of Billy Dee Williams when they think of Harvey Dent/Two-Face. It is belittling to the actor that they think so little of him that they gave him a role he can not possibly be remembered for.

if she had any kind of money, she wouldn't have felt so entitled to steal from her father. and the clothing she had was not "designer". she probably got all of her clothes from the local goodwill and her wigs from a nearby sally beauty supply.

sure it has, but if we're being realistic, politicians asking big wig corporations for money or support isn't that far fetched. it doesn't matter if you're a leftie or a righty. you're just blowing it out of proportion thinking "how dare she ask him that!" it's a fricking movie.

you have no idea what my point of view is.

again, it's a movie. i don't watch movies just so i can compare them to real world scenarios. i'm capable of suspending belief just to be entertained for 3 hours and not be triggered by the minor details. i'd really hate to be you walking around this earth being triggered all the time because of something that's said in a movie/tv show.

It's established early on that she lives in a shitty apartment and is behind on her bills. She has one (1) single motorcycle and works in an "exclusive club" that employs foreign sex workers for her estranged father. She gets nothing from him.

I don't want anything to do with this stupid argument but you're not even presenting the facts honestly.

thank you for the extra bit of facts. however, 7 people from my response to this think we're wrong.

I watched this last night and thought it was OK, not great and not terrible. It definitely had some good stuff - I liked the grittiness and Pattinson was good as an immature, anger driven batman. This movie was in desperate need of some editing though, felt needlessly long and started to drag in parts.

What did I say that was not “presenting the facts honestly” and how does that change that calling a complete stranger out for “white privilege” when you yourself were born into it is anything other than stupid woke virtue signaling?

This is so stupid. A 3 hour movie that features a pretty decent Batman is being crapped on because of one line about white privilege uttered by a character

It's funny you say that because I actually missed the line. And the reason I missed the line is because the movie wasn't terribly interesting and I kept zoning out.

I'm not triggered by it, it just makes no sense to me that people can't see the inherent racism and sexism in race swapping and gender swapping. In fact, people are claiming the opposite is true. It's a total 1984 situation: "right is wrong," "wrong is right," "racism isn't racism."

Race/gender swapping is an admission that you are incapable of creating new, interesting characters that are the race/gender you prefer and is racist/sexist toward all races/genders involved. It is not a practice that should be acceptable to anyone.

she might've been "born into it", but she definitely wasn't benefitting from like you're insinuating.

At least I'm honest about it. I'm as selfish as anyone else who puts feeding their family over getting any advantage thrown there way, no matter how unfair it might seem.

In other words you’re just virtue signaling and it means nothing

His Batman was definitely the highlight. I also liked the more human sort of Batman. It felt more like how Batman would actually exist in the real world. Not a Batman who self-heals a complete spinal cord injury.

That's not what happened here. She wasn't talking to Wayne Enterprises. She was talking to Bruce Wayne about his PERSONAL involvement.

Not sure where you’re getting that she’s wealthy. She’s behind on her bills and splitting a small apartment with her friend. Any money she has she likely got from stealing and/or seducing/working over rich men. Her dad is rich but he doesn’t even know who she is.

Also how many “wealthy” mixed race girls do you know who yammer on about how their mother was murdered by their father to a guy who she doesn’t know anything about?

It’s a movie with Batman and Catwoman talking to each other. I can’t imagine the level of reaching it takes to conclude this as “woke” because you’re analyzing the level of comfort these characters would have in making such trivial comments to each other.

I’m done. I’m out now. I’ll leave you all to sky scream about this

you think she'd still be talking to him if he didn't own a multi-billion dollar business? that's cute.
