i've said something similar. i'm on the right, but for sure can laugh at myself and thought Stewart and Colbert Report were hilarious.
i don't think Noah has ever even elicited a chuckle or smile at most.

Personally I think that John Oliver would've been the only way to retain Stewart's audience, but they missed that boat. There are shifts in viewer habits no matter the host and Noah was never going to be up to the task of fighting that trend.
I also think that Stewart was the only person at The Daily Show who wasn't using it as a springboard to a better career. Any other "great" host would've moved on by now (after replacing Stewart). Part of Noah's appeal to Comedy Central may have been his limited charisma keeping him from moving on to something better.

Cant stand the guys political takes, and hes not as funny Jon Stewart....but: (and this isnt going to be popular)
I do think hes funny, just not right for that show.
I also have alot of respect for the guy for calmly and openly discussing some topics with people on the far other side of where he is; check this one out...need MORE of these types of interactions between the talking heads and politicians.

I used to watch Jon Stewart and Colbert on Comedy Central religiously, without ever missing an episode.
And I'll tell you right now, I haven't watched Trevor Noah in a really long time.

No. Samantha Bee is by far the worst.

I remember seeing many here say that when he got the gig he wouldn’t make it 6 months.

I have no idea why John Oliver didnt just take over, especially since he hosted in Stewart's place for a few weeks and didn't miss a beat. His HBO show is the true continuation of the Daily Show in my eyes. I haven't watched a single episode of Trevor Noah since he took over and I plan to keep it that way.

I’m ashamed at how much I hate this dude. Every ad for the Daily Show triggers me.
Yeah, there is something about the guy that I just despise. If one of his ads come on it's time for an immediate fast forward (usually DVR'd), or a channel change if it's live. Same goes for Colbert but not quite at the same level of disgust.

Jon Stewart is the perfect example of how being a leftist and being a great political comedian don't have to be mutually exclusive.
To be honest, there aren't any rightist great political comedians either.
Stewart was the last of the breed it seems, regardless of political affiliation.

they are bad to the point i'm embarrassed for him and the production as a whole, even though they hate me and what i believe in

I've never seen the show, but I see the commercials while I'm watching the office. I really hope the show is better than that because those commercials are pure cringe. Like embarrassingly bad.

1st of all, Dan Crenshaw is not "on the far other side of where he is". He's pretty much in the middle on most issues.
And 2nd, you "have a lot of respect" because he has 1 Republican on his show a year. Rand Paul last year, Crenshaw this year. Man, what a guy he is.

"How about that Trump, hey? What's up with that?"
Leftists idea of humor, probably.
I'm watching a reality TV show that existed during the Trump presidency. I did not vote for the guy, nor do I particularly like him, but it just ruined comedy. Politics as a whole have ruined comedy, as a lot of these shows think just saying "Ugh, Republicans" is lol hilarious.
It's like the morons calling Dems Dims for the thousandth time, it's just not funny anymore, and since we cancel people who are not even approaching 2010 boundaries, comedy is just so stale.

He is truly un-funny. I can only imagine the ratings for that show are garbage.
Posted on 2/16/22 at 11:35 am to Roaad
i don't hate him as much as some do here, but his guest selection is just awful. i wouldnt mind seeing someone else take on over but its not gonna happen.

They need a new host, badly
Honestly all these late night shows do, but they’re not there for the ratings. All the late night hosts combined don’t get what Rogan gets on a daily basis. They’re no longer here to make you laugh, they’re here to keep you compliant to the state. Samantha Bee can’t get more than 200,000 viewers a show, but somehow still keeps her job. The late night show pretty much died in 2010 with Conan.

The Amen Corner on Maher's show clapping like trained seals is so ridiculous that Maher himself has even pointed it out how absurd it is
Maher should get rid of the audience entirely. His show improved during the pandemic when he was doing it from his house and didn’t have the clapping seals constantly interrupting him.

Whenever I’m watching Comedy Central and a Daily Show preview comes on, its never remotely funny.
I watch a decent amount of Comedy Central with The Office, Seinfeld, etc. and they are always promoting the crap out of Noah and Bee both. You would think they would at least have one promo that would make me chuckle even by accident but nope, never. They have to be the 2 unfunniest people ever created.
