As others have said, Hollywood would frick it up. I think you would be better off doing an anime version that could stay true to the books.

We need a Record of the Lodoss war about the Crystal Shard trilogy.

We're better than this.

Hollywood bad.

We all gel it. You know we're better than this simple thought.

You know me.

This this is the wrong thread for that.

Nothing from OP has do with anything until people injected it.

WoTC has already been working on that for the last 5-10 years by stating they see orcs and dark elves being inherently evil as exacerbating or reinforcing racist tropes against blacks.

These people need to just get over it. The typical kid playing D&D is just not plagued by either the need to deconstruct and critique old material or the knee jerk assumption that monsters and mythological creatures are masks for racial or cultural supremacy in the real world.

In the quest to monitor the hobgoblins of their own guilty consciousness these people would eliminate the stories about goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves, and gnomes without realizing they've become Dolores Umbridge in the process.

And if a kid never got to play a night elf or half orc they kinda missed out. This is what childhood play is supposed to allow.

This is the nonsense.

You can't even have a conversation.

So frick me right?!?

Calling this out on TD is bad? That's why we all leave.

How this was taken off for blackface is insane.

But this is a logical train of thought relevant to the OP

Follow this logic:
“I can’t believe there hasn’t been a Drizzt movie or tv show. Why?”
“Fantasy series keep failing”
“Why?”
“Because they go off script from the books and put unnecessary emphasis on unintended areas, usually following the woke agenda. Fantasy audiences have consistently rejected these changes in their content”

Is that not a logical explanation for this thread?

You're kidding right?

How are you going to talk super risk averse hollywood suits into greenlighting a series or movie based on a book trilogy that will probably never be completed?

Anyone with any sense will look at what happened to GOT and steer way the frick clear.

I really like The Name of the Wind. But the second book rambled too much and you could tell Rothfuss was lost.

He says the loss of his dad messed him up and he hasn't recovered. That may be so, and it's sad if true.

But he's still got an unfinished trilogy out there that millions of people want him to finish . At this point he's a punch line along with GRR Martin and JJ Abrams as creators who start strong and fizzle miserably.

imagine to yourself what Drizzt looks like. Now imagine what he'll look like after some hollywood liberal executive gets ahold of him. It will end up being a trans blasian with mentrual cramps or some shite like that.

Yeah, you got me. I guess I'm still pissed off at Rothfuss and Martin. It's still too soon man.

But that's part of the conversation. You even hit on it in your very next post about the Community episode being yanked because someone thought being dressed as a drow was qualified as "blackface." While the post you were responding to was taking the extreme stance, both are essentially saying the same thing.

I understand Bard.

I did that on purpose, glad you caught on.

The issue for me is that it doesn't need all the preempting that happens on TD MTV. It happens, we know. But just post "Disney" or whatever and fools jump in with same sky screaming Cartman.

Tina Fey pulled great 30 Rock episodes with Jon Hamm over blackface that was making fun of racist idiocy.

I'm not immune or misunderstanding the bullshite, but does it need to be present in every MTV thread?

Some people know my point, but it's fine. Like I said in another thread...
