re: How many seasons is too many for you to start a new show?

If it's a good show, especially a comedy, the more episodes, the better.

13 episodes a season MAX for me

It took a lot to muster up the courage to start The Last Kingdom (5 seasons), but man I blew through first 2 seasons quickly and now I already feel like it will be over too soon.

If the show is well received, why would you not start watching it?
it's new to you, why deny ever seeing it?

Also, I didn't start watching Son Of Anarchy and Banshee until they were over.

5 seasons and you know its probably good. And the producers had good taste and restrained themselves...and went quietly into that good night.
7-8...yeesh, you know it jumped the shark at Season 4...and then you feel compelled to finish trash.
Better question, how many episodes will you watch before you bail?
I'm generally that first two pages Novel reader...if it doesn't hook me early, I know it won't later.
Same philosophy with shows, going 5 episodes in, knowing you should've bailed after episode 2...but just hanging on, hoping, cause great reviews, etc. And it doesn't get better...but you have hope and hope is a dangerous thing...can drive a man crazy.

I feel like if there's 7-8, it feels too much to take on. 6 or under and I'm game.
But why? If you like it watch it. If it starts sucking after S3 then stop.

The more the better. Lots to look forward to. I hate a series that’s only 1-3 seasons. And who ever heard of a “season” being 6 episodes.
I just don’t like that countdown when you know you are nearing the end.
