Hell, he could probably find a slow dance partner at the Hangout when Jimmy Buffett starts playing “Come Monday.”

don't know about Buffalo Bill and swimsuits, but can anyone think of a song more connected to a particular movie scene than "Goodbye Horses" is to the "the tuck" scene?

Whenever I would go to a party, and the iPod or whatever was left unattended, I'd put this on, and see who reacted first. Was usually a pretty good indication of who else had a sense of humour.

You know Demme had previously used the song in Married to the Mob. If you watch the two films in reverse order of release, it makes for a weird moment in MttM.

Now, I’m imagining a scenario in which Buffalo Bill skins the first victim and attempts to make the first parts of the suit, stops, realizes it isn’t a good plan, re-assesses his life, and settles down into a regular life.

“Oh, jeez. You know what? This is a stupid plan. What was I thinking? I should really re-evaluate my life.”

I don't try to understand Buffalo Bill for the same reason I don't try to understand a well written Joker. You can't. The sky is a different color in their world.

Is wanting to wear a skin suit any more crazy than wanting to chop your dick and balls off?

If a rational man was forced to pick between the two, which would most pick?

Turns out Buffalo Bill was less crazy than your average tranny.

I thought it was the culmination of his transformation into a woman. Like the caterpillars he raised turning into butterflies/moths.

I’m aware of that. I’m asking about the actual practical use of such a suit. What it is and what it is made out of would be instantly obvious to anyone in public. He would be arrested in no time. Maybe he doesn’t intend to use it in public, but one would think that since the suit is so important to his sense of self-identity, he would want other people to see it an acknowledge it too.

yeah, it was never meant to be worn in public, just his basement.. that was his world and labyrinth.

Its where he could be free and had any power. So its ironic he was destroyed there by a woman he invited into his home.

Read the book people.

That, No Country for Old Men and maybe Blade runner are the only movies that are probably better than the books. At least just as good.

The song from Reservoir Dogs. When he cuts the cops ear off. ‘Stuck in the middle with you’ or some shite.

Always think about that scene when I hear the song.

Buffalo Bill was based on Ted Bundy and Ed Gein. Bundy for how he stalked and captured his victims. Ed Gein because he skinned victims to make a woman suit he would wear under the moon. You probably know Bundy, but if you don’t know Gein, read up on his story. Not going to find much rational thought there.
