Is this the newest Community/Parks and Rec butthurt fan thread?
I hope someone makes a comment about how mean BBT is or how it's just warmed over old sitcom gags because it's obvious they don't watch the show.

CBS - LCD programming for the morons of middle America

CBS is the worst offender of using the laugh track. And the laugh track should be banned from existence

Never have I once met anyone who has a rating thing in their home.
I once got a survey form to fill out for the Neilson system. It was like a census form where I kept track of my TV watching habits for a week.
They sent me a check for $50. Ballin.
I did it so I could post on here that I once influenced what you guys are able to watch on TV.

If anyone complaining about BBT watched 2 Broke Girls, they would instantly realize BBT is high-level shite.

Thats just as bad.
They tell the audience when to laugh, so that they can show the audience at home when to laugh and whats funny

I think the Nielsen system is completely outdated
I'll agree that it no longer gives as accurate a picture of what is being watched as it did 20 years ago.
quote:
there's really no excuse for its continued use
This is just silly though. The system is still informative enough to justify its continued use. It probably shouldn't be given the weight it is, but it is still a useful tool.

BBT is 2 broke girls with a Thesaurus

So yeah I don't believe that BBT gets 17 million viewers and Parks only gets 3.
So, CBS is paying Nielsen under the table to rig the ratings?
Is that why it is "fishy"?
Was it "fishy" 15 years ago when NBC ruled the airwaves with Friends, Seinfield, and ER?

Lot of great TV shows were filmed in front of a live audience.
Using this as a criteria to judge a show is just something you can use to rationalize your hate of a show.

I watch Parks and DVR BBT, I like it. I like it better than Parks FWIW.

CBS prints money, their president can be as cocky as he wants to be.
A lot of people on this board don't like Big Bang Theory. That's not abnormal. People that care enough about the TV shows they watch to post on a message board about them are going to want a better product.
The vast majority of Americans don't care and don't have the time, energy, or want to put more effort into their TV watching.
Chuck Lorre has excelled at making background noise level TV shows that cater to people that don't want to use all their brain energy at a given time on the TV show they're watching. His shows are set up so that you don't have to pay that much attention because the formula tells you when to laugh.
It's not going to change. He's going to keep putting more shows on CBS until it's just him and NCIS, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I didn't like what I saw, so I stopped watching all of his shows.
But stop bitching about the people that you don't have anything in common with enjoying those shows. How about you enjoy the fact that you don't have anything in common with the people that enjoy those shows.
ETA: This was not directed at any one person, and I got a little rambly, sorry.

A lot of old shows like Seinfeld did it in the past because thats just hows its was done
Today its the first clear cut sign of a bad show. They know a show without it can be successful if thw writing/jokes are good enough but when they are not, they stick an cued audience so that the old people at home know when to laugh even when its not funny or they dont get the joke (BBT does this a ton because they use a ton of scientific lingo that noone knows but they tell you when to laugh so its nice and convenient)
The only laughtrack type show i watch is HIMYM and its the worst part of the show. It distracts from the jokes, cuts them off at the punchlines and is completely unnecessary.

So much fail.
Don't any of you realize that you can't just throw some formula out there and it will become the biggest show on TV especially after it's been done a million time?
Just imagine if being a TV producer was as easy as you guys thought it was.

Exactly. You just read this board, you think every slapdick in America is watching Parks & Rec.
And has a secret gay crush on JGL.
