I don't like BBT or 2 and a half men or 2 broke girls or Mike & Molly. I did like Scrubs, I do like P&R, Community, and a few other more adventurous shows.
But the degree of retard that some people take these arguments to almost makes me want to stop giving my opinion on things.

You were a part of sweeps week.. a bit more "true" version of the Nielsen as a whole. Just because people don't understand Nielsen they tend to "attack" it however.. while the system is broke, it's a bit bigger than most people know as well.

I am. Do they see DVR viewings, because I don't watch anything live.

Niesen started showing DVR ratings as a part of "true" ratings this ratings year (Aug. 2012 -) They are also looking into adding internet views on top of that.. They get these DVR numbers from 2 sources: TiVo and DirectTV DVRs connected to the internet.
They get live viewing data from the old school "Nielson Box" about 10% of "Cable Boxes" about 50% of "DirectTV DVR Boxes connected to the internet" and "TiVO Boxes"
That answer your question?
ETA: If you record a show, but watch it live, DirectTV will send that data as a recorded show, TiVo sends it as a live view... and the Nielsen box see you were there. They then supplemental that data with how many cable families are watching live to get an estimate on the DirectTV viewers who were watching live, even though it was recorded.

As a Parks & Rec fan, I will say that it is a bit disconcerning that they'll be matched up in the same timeslot as ratings monster Big Bang Theory. I mean, it was pretty much clinging on for dear life in that 7:30 slot to begin with.
I like Big Bang Theory. I don't really care who has an opinion about that. It's certainly not my favorite comedy, but I like it.

I for one don't believe the whole ratings system. It just seems fishy. No one really knows what people are watching. I've never met anyone who had those rating things in their home.
I imagine each notebook represents x number of viewers.
