Except at this point Disney clearly doesn't care if people like the show or not, as long as they are watching. All the hate watching this board does is help out Disney. They don't care if you're watching if you hate it or like it, as long as you are watching and keeping your membership. If people actually wanted to stop these shows from happening the best thing they could do is cancel their membership, not actually watching the show.

Good luck with that because hate watching is helluva lot of fun in this day & age.

I can’t wait for rangs season 2 to see how bad it is.

He named his production company, Seven Bucks Productions, after Black Adam’s box office performance.

Look up just a couple of posts man. It premiered worse than all Star Wars shows except Andor, which is truly ironic

Yea I mean if you want to hate watch that's fine. Just don't hate watch and then complain about them making bad shows, because you're part of the reason they are making the crappy shows.

Or catch it on a pirate site.

they are making crappy shows to receive complaints and to piss off fans?

if that's the case, why did disney fire that guy and bring back bob Igert?

why are they now scaling back their releases to 'focus on quality instead of quantity'?

why are they having to explain to shareholders why their movie revenue has tailed off in theatres?

smarten up man...the point you're trying to make is illogical.

also, hate watching and complaining about the shows go hand in hand. you can't get one without the other.

People don't hate-watch movies, they don't pay and go see them. If you want to make money on movies you have to keep them popular.

For tv shows, the thing is to keep eyeballs and interest. Disney whiffed on Willow, which was hardly discussed at all after episode 1.

Our nation is addicted to drama, and the streaming shows are proof. People who hate-post on every detail of every episode keeps the shows in the public eye, so they're helping that show be a success. They're taking popular franchises to generate interest, and then putting up stuff that outrages us.

No it’s not . It’s bad press and it’s tarnishing their reputation. How anyone can say public badmouthing of their shows is actually good for the company defies belief.

Is it good for Diddy that all of his dirty laundry is being put out there being discussed and going viral?

I'm not going to equate what Diddy did, with a frustrating storyline on a TV show

Disney puts out Andor, and it puts out The Acolyte.
Andor is very, very good, and in a style completely non-Disney. It's an adult show, little to no fancy CGI, that takes a meh character from (frankly speaking) a meh movie, and does a brilliant exploration of the Empire and what it would be like living in it. It gets some good reviews, but very little in the line of press.

The Acolyte has people frothing at the mouth, with guys like Nerdrotic counting down the minutes until he can make his next post skewering the show. Like it or not, that drums up interest. "Everyone" will hate it, but then season 2 of Andor will come out and the Star Wars fans will watch that.

I think at least a part of this is keeping the pot stirred. Bad press is better than no press at all, and then when they come out with something better, it's propped up even higher... "they FINALLY get it".

Velma got a Season 2.

True, it's possible that hate watching saved that show, but I would think that people would stop doing that after a couple of episodes at MOST.

I cannot fathom intentionally watching a show I despise longer than that.

I think some people don't understand that you have the option to just not watch shows.

Yeah, I don't get it either. There's a lot of shows I either never watched, or tapped out on several episodes in. I'm not watching the Acolyte, so I'm not posting comments about it, because a) what I heard doesn't interest me to watch, and b) I'm not aware of what happens each episode.

There are some bad shows I watched all the way through, because I thought there was potential and wanted them to get better. I did post on them, trying to discuss the good parts and wanting to see if there was a path to fixing things.
Some shows were up and down; Boba Fett. Lots of laughably bad stuff, but a few good things here and there. If you like Mando, his episodes were good.

But something I despise, I just drop and move on. It's not fun to watch something that makes me pissed.
