Oscar calls him loathsome and is definitely making the case that his lords will be sworn to the queen, not Daemon.
Wrong.
Go watch the scene again, he says they will be sworn to Rhaenyra AND Daemon
if they were only sworn to Rhaenyra he wouldn't have added the AND DAEMON. he could've ended his sentence after saying they will be sworn to the Queen.
how could you possibly get that they are sworn to Rhaenyra, NOT Daemon, from him specifically saying Rhaenyra AND Daemon?

In Episode 8 Ser Alfred Broome says that if Daemon declares himself then his Lords will follow him. that is where the tension came from.
Broome is a Westerland house. Alfred has been on Dragonstone this entire time. He doesn't know anything about the lords in the Riverlands. He is only telling Daemon what he thinks will work so that they can get a strong male to lead them.

I agree with a lot of what you posted, but I'll argue one point:
quote:
5) The final scene of Ep 7 when Rhaenyra and her new Dragon seeds are all perched and Vhagar runs. Its just dumb on many fronts. One they could easily chase down Vhagar who is known for being Huge but slow. They have numbers and could swarm the big dragon and kill it which would essentially end the Greens. Instead they allow Aemond to know they have new dragons and runa away to plan accordingly.
In the next episode, Rhaenyra says that she hoped the fact that they have many more dragons would act as a deterrent to continuing the war. Whether you disagree with that sentiment or not, that is her mindset at the time. So, she hoped this show of strength would hasten a treaty of some sort.
It would never happen knowing what we know about Aemond, but it at least made sense for the character at the time.

Yeah he says that as in Daemon is on Rhaenyra's side and is in charge of her Army in the Riverlands so we will listen to him BUT only because he is working for Rhaenyra. Oscar makes it very clear that Daemon is the necessary evil that they have to deal with because they are sworn to Rhaenyra.

It doesn't matter anyway, I don't know where people got the idea that they were ready to turn on Rhaenyra for Daemon. I just rewatched the scene and I see looks of concern but noone is reaching for their swords
And while Oscar may be fully committed to his oaths, the older lords may feel more like Ser Alfred on the issue and rather follow a man.

This goes back to the poor character development aspect. They continue to make Rhaenyra a bad leader that passes up opportunities to end the war in hopes that the other side will just quit. It makes her boring and doesn't connect with the audience. Its also different than how she is in the books. And its also dumb because as she tells Alicent, she has to kill her rivals so Aemond isn't gonna just give up because that guarantees his death. The more I think about it, the more the writing and issues of season 2 seem eerily similar to the writing and issues of seasons 7-8 of GOT.

It's in Episode 7. Grover Tully specifically says they are sworn to Rhaenyra AND Daemon as king consort.
They know Daemon.
They also refer to Daemon as your Grace recognizing his kingship
I just rewatched the scenes:
Scene with Daemon and Oscar
-Oscar says he recognizes the authority of Queen Rhaenyra and yours as King Consort. He doesn't say sworn to Daemon.
Scene with all the lords
- He says he will honor the oath of his grandsire to Viserys to honor Rhaenyra as the heir. He never mentions Daemon.
- Oscar calls him Prince at one point. Daemon responds with "King, mind your tongue, boy"
- It is Willem Blackwood that says they will kneel to their liege lord and King Consort
- Then Willem calls him his grace and king
- Oscar does says "If his grace wishes to show contrition.."
So, Oscar never says they are swearing to Daemon in the whole scene. He calls him your grace, but that is correct for someone that is King Consort.

yeah you're right. he doesn't say sworn, says he recognizes their authority.
Daemon is the one who says they are sworn to him, and noone argues it despite all the riverlords being present.

They support Rhaenyra as queen, tard. They don't think of Daemon as ruler or even part of a ruler.
Be a gay little contrarian troll all you like. It won't change anything.

It was a good scene. That lasted all of a minute.

Rhaenyra and Daemon.
That wasn't a showdown and that should have happened a long time ago. By the time they met up Daemon's character had already been wasted. I'm sure he's going to be fine going forward but I'm not talking about future seasons. Arguably the best and most interesting character from season one absolutely sucked for the majority of season two. That's not good. This is a universal opinion. Even when I was still enjoying the season, his scenes sucked.

Rhaenyra and Alicent
Which by every measure was completely illogical and didn't make sense and... had already happened. We did not a second "let me sneak away to go try and talk to her mother to mother" scene. One per season is enough.

Yea, or that. It was essentially a Gendry running back to the wall with a message and a raven being sent to Dany and Dany showing up with dragons in the course of a few hours. Except they did it twice.

Saw a YouTube comment calling it House of Draggin’

Whenever a Velaryon walks in, we know it. If they had made them look similar to Targaryens, the confusion would be even higher on who is who.
Or, you know, give them a specific color scheme/banner like every other house.
Instead let's have a black family with literal white mop weaves. Like why have those awful things? Just give them white hair and be done.

it’s so dumb. Complete unforced error that makes me laugh out loud every time one of them appears. Surely the actors know how comical this is.
just pick a family that isn’t described in the books as “of Valyrian descent, and its members often have Valyrian features, such as silver-gold or silver hair and purple eyes.” Or…and hear me out on this, if you’re making them black, forget about the hair and just make them black. Honestly of all the things they could have done they chose the most ridiculous

100%.
I wish Corlyss was more involved, I really like the actor

I hated the Velaryon being black thing first too as I assumed it was a DE&I thing.
Now I get the decision and love it, My wife didn’t read the books and she better understands who is who and the Strongs. If they were white it would have been too confusing for non book readers imo
