What is hypocritical about that?
She is literally saying:
- The Council isn't giving good advice.
- Corlys is a competent advisor and while she'd like to see Rhaenyra handle it on her own (rise to the occasion) she may need Corlys (a man) to help her handle the Council.
She has also said things of similar fashion to Rhaenyra's face throughout the show. And has given solid advice herself.

She scolds the council for advising correctly then runs to Corlys and tells him she’ll need his help knowing he’ll advise the same way. She’s meant to be seen as wise and the rightful ruler even though everything she does is wrong even to the point of observing ceremonial behaviors. Look I get that people like you and BB don’t give a shite about the lore and world, that’s not why you watch the show but some fans do. I didn’t jump into your convo or address BB so if you wanna discuss the soapy bits of the show together that’s great but I was addressing SolomonGrundy because he understands that side of it so take your smarmy comments and frick off. You’re a tourist so talk to other tourist and leave the fans alone.

GRRM has been involved with the show throughout the process, more so than he was in late GOT seasons. That angle was pursued with the blessing of the guy who wrote it at that point.

You honestly think this show sucks? Why?

You literally just accused me of making this personal and yet here you are....making it personal. You are so pissed about a counterpoint that you're now personally attacking posters over it and making baseless accusations.
The "lore" is a literal third hand retelling of the events by two unreliable narrators. This isn't the departure it was from ASOIAF with GoT where there is actual dialogue between characters in the text and multiple POV dialogues of people there when events happen.

I didn’t address you. Why is that so hard for your kind to understand?

Other guy's words not mine. Still, the Aemonds and Dameons of the world making shite worse while the women meet to talk reason in an unrealistic scenario? Tell me that's not forced.

And as I've stated multiple times, they have the license to do so especially considering the books didn't present a one, true definitive account. That doesn't mean book readers are silly to notice the change.

What do you want them to do? They’re transporting material presented as a history book with no real pov or dialogue. A TV show has to frame protagonist and antagonist and points of view. I personally wouldn’t have chosen Alicent as the main green POV but it makes sense why they did it. I think once the actual war starts in an explosive next episode with Rhaneys death it’ll begin to feel less like 2024 politics to some.

You posted on a public message board, in a discussion thread on a popular show. If you want to curate who does/doesn't respond to you, you probably should seek another venue.
You want a private conversation then maybe you guys can exchange Twitter handles or something. Don't be obtuse.

I responded to someone else with facts you didn’t like so you attacked me. I gave reasons for why I didn’t like one character, not the show, one fricking character but because it’s who it is you can’t handle it and are trying to change my opinion by insulting me lol. Jesus you people are insufferable

I mean, but they did make things worse. But that's not mutually exclusive with Alicent/Rhaenyra's faults as they have them as well. There's a whole lot of responsibility to go around for why this keeps progressing to war, INCLUDING the Queen and Queen Dowager.
Lets be honest. There's not really anyone in this story that's making things "better". Man or woman. And that's actually a pretty accurate reflection on conflicts throughout history. I think damn near the whole Plantagenet reign in England was men and women fricking up for generations.
And I'd argue that the conversation scene with Alicent and Rhaenyra shows their own flaws. Rhaenyra wants to believe Alicent deep down is still the young women she grew up with (she's not) and Alicent looks like an absolute clown for believing what she did on Viserys's death bed confession when he was so heavily under the influence of Milk of the Poppy. The reality is she just wanted her kid on the throne and was willing to use that as the vehical. That's horribly flawed.

I wasn't the only one who balked. Rhaenys is far from the worst character on the show and I have no problem saying multiple people here likely don't agree with your take.
If you don't like that your unpopular take was challenged, again, you're welcome to choose a venue where you can curate responses to that. Instead you're just showing your arse by personally attacking anyone who called out that bad (yes, it's a bad) take.
ETA: You talk about facts but I literally provided the exact quote from the show that you are claiming is hypocritical. And also provided "facts" that the quote is in line with Rhaenys viewpoint.

Nothing. I'm on record as saying that I think linking Alicent and Rhaenyra has strengthened the story. Doesn't mean that I can't comment that it's a new twist or that it isn't sometimes forced. I have no idea why that's taken as a personal affront by some (not you).

lol you took one other poster, a known idiot btw and are using that pair as a majority. Keep going, if your motives and intentions weren’t clear before they are now. You’ve proven Grundy and I correct so I say thank you.

I don’t really like Rhaenys this season either tbh. She was fine in season 1. Doesn’t really matter though because she’s about to die.
Posted on 7/1/24 at 2:02 pm to Mickey Goldmill
As usual you lack the intelligence to understand basic concepts making everything you say stupid.

Again, you can't handle a retort so you're trying to make this personal.
DMagic also mentioned that he thought Rhaenys would've made a good Queen. I venture that a lot of people that follow this show think that at this point. She's certainly not the "worst character" or the "most hypocritical". I don't have any problem backing that up. You literally can't rationally counter anyone who disagrees with you.
