Siskel and EIBERT raved on this documentary
I just don’t see it
It’s 2.5 hours of just following around some high school kids

The documentary is a masterpiece from a filmmaker perspective but I always thought He Got Game was much more entertaining

It was a portrait of kids and their families chasing the dream of big time basketball in order to change their lives.
I thought it was pretty interesting.

It's fiction versus real life. William probably didn't double team Chasey lain and Jill Kelly on his Marquette visit.

Sadly, it gave us an accurate look at what these kids grow up like. The families only look at them as a potential cash cow. A high percentage never make it past the collegiate level, and they’re not smart enough to at least take advantage of a free education. It’s depressing, but it’s the sad reality.

Pretty sure they both graduated college.

More realistic than any of these bullshite movies middle aged alcoholics want to believe college ball is really about.
No kid wants to play college. They want to get to the pros.

Makes you stop and think what a kid like Neon Boudeaux could earn in the NIL era

I love the movie. It captures the experience and gives you an understanding of the kinds of kids in highschool and trying to make it big time
I've always thought a similar project could work for baseball and hockey kids too.
Great movie. Also captures the atmosphere and city environment of the era

Yep.
Gates graduated from Marquette with a degree in communications; Agee graduated from Arkansas State with a degree in radio/television.
