This. They can check for any chromosome abnormalities. This can check for genetic conditions but also helps determine which embryos to transfer since an embryo with high chromosomal abnormalities will likely either not implant at all or result in a miscarriage if it does implant.

Also….parents doing IVF themselves are tested for numerous different genetic abnormalities that they could potentially pass onto a child.
