Athletes aren't exactly known for being funny or self-deprecating. Sports media are another element there, and they are legendary fart-sniffers. That's why you get reporter Sarah Spain, who once traded some pussy for Super Bowl tickets, writing stuff like:

But Gillis' jokes all had truth to them. Rapinoe is an insufferable lesbian killjoy, the black chicks in the WNBA have kicked the crap out of Caitlin Clark since she joined the league, and people don't actually know who most players are. His buddy's black wife was in on the joke, but of course some liberal white woman has to tell her she should be offended.

It was pretty funny but the 2 minute Trump story to end it dragged and went nowhere. Should have left the Trump stuff out. Political jokes just arent funny and are so over done no matter which side it makes fun of, just my opinion

Any topic can be funny, baw. Seems weird to just pick some random topic to not ever laugh at. It’s like saying “sports jokes just aren’t funny. Too many people tell them.”
The problem with political jokes is that far left comedians have been the only ones telling them on big stages lately…mostly your late night talk shows and SNL. And they are hardly “jokes” too and more insults to get clapter from people who agree with them. Gillis can tell a universally funny political joke IMO.

That was very bad. I know he is some kind of hero to the MAGAs but my man does not have comedic timing at all.

I thought his jokes were hit or miss. Some were great but his timing on Norms OJ joke wasn't good. And the whole Trump FIFA guy story wasn't great either.

I wish he didn't preface the Norm joke, if he had just started saying it the comedy fans would have understood.
