Anyone who claims they've seen the worst Clint movie ever without mentioning City Heat as a contender is a fricking piker.

Good catch - I had, literally, blocked that movie from my memory.

On hindsight - (Clint has directed himself in the vast majority of films since Josey Wales), with Richard Benjamin directing a script based on a Blake Edwards story, City Heat, should have been better than it was. I think, ultimately, it comes down to chemistry - sometimes great ingredients just don't go together.

But, anyway, yeah, certainly should top the list of discussion of worst films with Clint Eastwood, at least since he became a bona fide star.

Growing up in house where my mom made me watch musicals (its a wonder I like the ladies), a musical with Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin was a welcomed treat.

For those complaining about the realism of Heartbreak, then you clearly don't know jack about the lackadaisical post Vietnam military. It was about the clash of the old warriors and the punks too young to make the draft.

Plus his character's name was Highway! Seriously awesome!

Yeah - got me thinking. Sean Penn + War Movie = Bad (I mentioned Casualties of War and now you drop Thin Red Line - they're Born on the Fourth of July-bad).

Never said I didn't like the role of Gunny Highway.

But the acting from the supporting cast was some of the worst ever. Particularly the character of Chooz (who, in fairness, had some of the worst dialogue ever committed to film). But the whole platoon (including Lt. Ring) was horrible.

I agree w/ the earlier poster who said this movie is like a train wreck. It's God-awful, but you can't stop watching.

The Sergeant Major.

See? He was so bad, you never even caught his name.

Clint's supporting cast blew this one for him. Clint himself is the film's one redeeming feature.

What are we, Chooz?

We're short-haired bastards with meat cleavers for pricks and kerosene for blood.

Jesus. I thought it was a comedy. That's why I loved it.

Clint was pure awesome in this.
