How are they tackling it, and why is that an issue?

Actresses =/= creators
Furthermore, if a show says it will create a nuanced conversation about the Drug War, or trauma from war, the opiate crisis, or Food Service culture, do you also assume it can only mean it is "preachy" in a bad way?
Cause all that would describe some of the better shows/miniseries in memory.

Watch this review of the movie "Men". This guy explains it better than I can.
Men Review
I would discourage anyone from watching that review. If you can sit through the muddy, intentionally vague weirdness of men and compare it to "sitting at a political rally" and getting shouted at, you clearly saw what you wanted to for the sake of your YouTube review and NOT what was on the screen.
He calls the moment the main character sings in the tunnel, which creates a repeated theme in the score, a moment of peace, even though it's one of the more traditional horror suspense sequences in the film. He ignores the element of grief which is the only way the climax of the film can make sense, if it does make sense at all. He avoids what the climax might imply about historic and possibly primal relationships between men and women. He says the film lacks creativity after he name checks things that he says are cool and unique. He says it lacks subtlety, which might be true. What it throws at you is confusing and weird, but it let's you know it's throwing things at you. It's just weird to hear someone say a lack of subtlely is a problem right after saying how much you love Ex Kachina, a movie people here love that is much more clearly and obviously about the stupidity of man in his attempt to dominate women...
It's a shite show of a review that makes it sound like he sat down to film his video after his buddy told him about the plot, not after watching the movie. Watch Men and hate it on your own, not because a bozo told you to.

The current trend of movies/shows is to preach to the audience instead of telling a good story. When we hear the creators of said show saying it's about creating a conversation around misogyny it raises a red flag.
The current trend is for websites like Breitbart and YouTubers to aggregate snippets of interviews and peddle rage. Probably fewer than 4 people here would have ever scrolled past that Indiewire interview. An actor talking what she found interesting about a show she worked on isn't a creator creating a conversation around misogyny. Breitbart did that. We did that.
You guys think actors are half-witted mental patients. How can you believe they're so stupid but then go and create 10 page threads based on their press quotes that accept said quotes as absolute gospel?

You didn't. You posted a crap review of a movie you clearly haven't seen.

it's the melty outrage and whining
You’re predictable and boring. Every post that doesn’t worship your prog religion is “melty” to you.
We’re just on a message board. You want melty outrage? Your fellow wokesters are constantly blocking traffic and throwing public temper tantrums every time something doesn’t go their way.

Most posters addressing you have stated multiple times this isn't the concern. Take a breath and try to understand what people are saying instead of arguing with yourself.
He doesn’t want to understand anything. He always takes the same exact stance 100% of the time. Without fail, he’ll defend any and all wokeness and anyone who doesn’t like it is “melting.” Just like with the Amazon LOTR, we have the actual people who made the shows talking about these things in interviews yet here he is, pretending this is all a Breitbart conspiracy.

To be fair, even esteemed reviewers like Siskel and Ebert were dense sometimes and sometimes resorted to sensationalist reviews that had no bearing on the actual movies they reviewed…see basically every slasher film review they did, minus Halloween 1 and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Edit: Even minus their sensationalist and moralistic hatred for 80s slasher flicks, sometimes they would give bewildering reviews that suggested they didn’t actually see the movie…like when they both called Unforgiven “dull.”

Or storming a capital when you lose an election? Trying to jumpstart a civil war cause the FBI took back illegally removed White House documents from dear leader
MAGATards might want to put those rocks down they keep throwing inside that glass house lol…
Anyways, I’ll let you continue crying to others about black hobbits and GRRM triggering the hyper sensitivity of the “frick your feelings crowd” by incorporating elements of…14th century patriarchy and it’s effects on characters.

Wouldn’t have to pull out the easy counterpoint if you morons didn’t try and make the same lazy attacks every time an argument slips away from you…only to realize you can’t really win that one either

Surprised you aren’t up to your usual TD stuff? You know, not at all suspiciously posting incessantly about how much you hate pedos while simultaneously saying creepy shite about how underage Stranger Things actresses “groom up well”…..

Oh FFS…
As someone who read the source material, every new thing I hear about this makes me less interested in watching it.

With the thread title, who would have ever imagined. It sucks that posters love making this a mini Poli board.

I mean, didn’t they actually do this in the original series? The whole point (until the shitacular ending) was of a woman overcoming a frickton of shite to eventually rule. Two women if we’re being precise.
Was the point from the original not clear enough for these people?

It sucks that Hollywood can’t just make stuff instead of making it their political soapbox.
Don’t start none, won’t be none.

There’s been some ad-hoc rationalizations by folks in this thread that the reason they didn’t call out GoT for being “woke” was because the writing didn’t justify the hate.
Which leads to the question, “Why not wait to see if the new series will explore the aforementioned misogyny theme in a way that was as well-written as the original series?”
(I have a hunch that the new series’ writing will be pretty much on par with the original series with regards to this topic, but the second a Ramsay Bolton-esque character is depicted doing Ramsay Bolton-esque things, someone…ahem, OML, ahem…won’t be able to hold back on the ‘House of the Dragon is Woke And Thinks All White Men Are Sadistic Rapists’ thread.)

The original series was all over the place while it tracked the books. The later seasons got more openly girl-powerish and maybe that’s part of the reason nobody likes them. Although even then, the dragon queen and Cersi didn’t end up on top. Really just the Stark girls.
We didn’t have the show creators spouting feminist word salad bullshite in regards to the original series and there were enough tragic and shithead women in the original series that it never felt preachy at all.

Yes, I’m certainly sure you popped into a thread talking about Millie Browns acting and letting everyone know she looks hot and is being groomed because…you’re concerned about OTHER pedos
