We don’t know if the new series will be preachy either. The question was solicited. Meaning an interviewer, who like anyone with eyes and ears, picked up on the theme(s) of the original series and asked a question to a very specific question, which called for a specific answer. The feminist buzzwords aside, their answer is fairly consistent with the original series, and it was just them giving an honest answer to a question.

It doesn’t even say it will be the central thesis of the show, only that it will “explore” the topic.

Edit: Also, this is an answer given by an actress, which just means it will the takeaway the actress had from the writing and not necessarily reflecting the writers central priority. (It undoubtably is prominent in the series, but for all we know, this one actress is commenting from her own perspective which may not exactly align with the writers.)

This is why it’s hopeless to even try to converse with a devout prog like you. The actual creators are explicitly telling us that they’re inserting the “culture war” into these shows/movies. Why defend it against the accusation?

Exploring the themes of interpersonal misogyny or social patriarchy is no different than a film or tv show exploring the drug war, PTSD, oppression, militarism, religious persecution, The Irish Immigration experience, or characters that’s personal struggle involved any sort of social or cultural inequity.

The issue they have isn’t with the presentation, it’s with the promotion of that particular viewpoint. Trying to argue they will do it justice or with a respectful hand misdiagnoses the contention.

3. Actress obliges reporter with admittedly eyeroll-inducing buzzword salad, which for the most part, is probably, an honest answer.
4. Additionally, the way she describes the new GoT show is in no significant way inconsistent with the themes depicted in the original series.
5. Breitbart picks up on the story and realizes they can have their own click-bait by dangling the red meat that is the word "woke" by disingenuously suggesting that the new show is going to "introduce" these feminist themes to the franchise.
