Yall came blame Game of Thrones for this. HBO's budget is beyond limited at this point thanks to production costs for GoT. Their boxing schedule is weaker than its ever been and programs are getting cut left and right.

If they wanna cut anything, start with Real Sports because that show is simply a left wing agenda-pushing pile of garbage. At least with Bill Maher, you know what you're getting. But Real Sports is a fake title to cover up their liberal stories.

HBO has got to be worried. GOT and VEEP are already what 5 seasons in? Amazon and Netflix have been bringing the pain with content.

I'm sure Vinyl is pretty expensive to make too.

Westworld looks like it has to cost a shite ton

And in 2008, HBO’s racy comedy “Tell Me You Love Me” was also axed even though it had been renewed for a second year.

Tell Me You Love Me was a lot of things, but a comedy was not one of them.

The cast alone had to command a pretty large budget.

I lost interest in the show about halfway through, but still surprised it's being canceled so soon.

I watched the entire series and really enjoyed it.

The only thing that bugged the shot out of me s the fricking fact that the band name "Nasty Bits" is fricking terrible.

Vinyl was supposedly more expensive on a per episode basis than GoT, I'm assuming because of song licensing?

Or Netflix. Netflix is spending more on content than they bring in in revenue. Hard to compete with hot tech companies.

Now that's a great business model.

This show was not very good so it doesn't surprise me.

It just tried too hard. The show itself and the acting. Getting to know Tony Soprano was a slow burn. With Vinyl, we get this raging cokehead who's a jerk to everyone thrown at us with the subtlety of a roundhouse kick to the face right away. And we all liked it about as much as taking a roundhouse kick to the face! Which is to say, we didn't care for it much. I hate to be overly simplistic about it, but they just had the guy doing too much coke. It was like enough already. We know he does coke. We know you expect us to think it's far out and awesome, but really it just seems cartoonish. Plus, it's been done before. A lot. We've seen multiple high-profile '70s period films with tons of coke. And you are bringing us another? Ugh. I feel embarrassed for them. Olivia Wilde wore a merkin for that!?

Casting Bobby Carnavale as the lead was a horrible choice...that guy is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me I damn near give anything on HBO a chance but as soon as I saw he was lead...was a big NOPE for me.

Vinyl was super expensive and the rating were dismal. Really bad. Not surprising.

I couldn't even give this one a shot. The trailer was just so over the top cheesy I couldn't even force myself to watch this one.
