People like you are the worst.
I never saw it but it's horrible I would never watch it but no one should.

I watched it for a few episides and had to drop out. It was mad men with zero subtlety

I think the pilot was bad and too long. It didn't give people a desire to come back and keep watching. I almost gave up on it after that. It did get a lot better after a couple of episodes, and I enjoyed it overall. But there are lots of fair criticisms in this thread.
Oh well.

With all the shows I liked getting axed (haven't seen Vinyl), I can only guess Treme lasted so long because of tax credits.

What a crock of shite. Where did I say nobody should watch it?
The trailers were all horrible. I won't waste time going to the movie theater to watch a clearly shitty movie and from the trailer, this looked like it was going to suck.
Oh and from the VAST MAJORITY of reviews on here, it did suck.
Nothing from any of the threads on here, made it even remotely worthwhile to watch.
Sorry your shitty series got cancelled.

As someone who is always looking for the next HBO series to dive into, vinyl felt like season 2 of true detective. Never had any interest in either.

Westerworld sounds like a mess. ....notice how many delays it's had....

It was a bit worrisome that they went into hiatus so they could work on the final 4 scripts but that might have been needed. Better to work out the script problems and get it right.
Doesn't mean they got it right but at least they didn't film a script they knew didn't work.

damn near give anything on HBO a chance but as soon as I saw he was lead...was a big NOPE for
He was good in Boardwalk empire, and I'm guessing that role and the effect his character had on the series played a big role in him getting this part.
HBO needs to get back to either history or something unique like game of thrones in another world that bewilders us.

the show was lazy, the drugged fueled fantasy scenes we idiotic and served no purpose
and the Dice character was a trip they killed him and the murder and preceding cover-up /storylines distracted from the great music history that the show should have been about

I would have rather them cancel both Girls and Ballers over Vinyl. The acting in Ballers is just awful

HBO gets too attached to sex scenes and shite like that. It's like they're trying to throw a bone to the morons, but they don't realize they're taking away from character development and the story line when they make those decisions

Can't believe HBO actually wanted this show. I'm starting to think they're losing touch with the way they did things in the beginning.

They spent 30 mil on the pilot alone, which I thought was pretty good. They spent 100 million on the whole season.
Cannavale and Winter/Scorcese seemed like it would be a sure hit, but I've never really been more disappointed in how a show turned out. It felt like Scooby and Scrappy Doo with the musician guests on each show. This week Finestra and the gang try to sign Alice Cooper! Check out what hi-jinx they get into! Next week its David Bowie. Who read those scripts and thought they were good?

Bill Simmons show premieres tonight, depending on how that goes I could see HBO gearing more of their programming to similar Projects branched out of Simmons and The Ringer. Cheap stuff to produce and already a audience built in. The ringer already gets 80 percent of its content off of HBO shows

The baseball term "loud out" kind of sums up Vinyl. They knocked the hell out of an inning-ending deep fly.
Some really nice moments, though. The Elvis episode was my favorite.

You forgot 'Luck'..a few horses die and HBO didn't want to face that PR nightmare..the series was off to a great 1st season..
