I stopped Netflix about a year or two ago because their streaming movies sucked. I only had the plan where I could watch on X-box. They had nothing but old arse movies or shite that wasn't even remotely interesting. Have they stepped up their game and is it worth another try?

The TV shows available make it worth it, imo. For 8$ a month, why the hell not?

If you're looking for movies, then not worth it to me. I like to use it for series though and that seems to be worth the price. Haven't watched a movie through netflix in forever.

Its gotten a lot better with movies, but IMO it still has nowhere near the selection as the TV shows do.

It's definitely has not gotten any worse.

And again it's only what 8 bucks a month.. so even when I just watch a movie or 2 a week it's worth it to me.. I mean like you can still share it with like 5 different people. I know my mom, dad, and sister all share my account outside my house.

They classics section is definitely upgraded.

They just signed a big deal with Warner Bros? (I think.) There was a thread on here about it a week or so ago, had a pretty impressive list.

For $8, the selection has drastically improved. Just wish theyd put Season 5 of Mad Men on. I'd like to catch up before 6 starts.

I think if you didn't care for it before then you won't really care for it much now. ( I just read you didn't care much for older movies?)

They did recently add the movie, "Butter"

The contract requires them to wait until Season 6 starts to put Season 5 online.

yeah my wife hates the fact that there aren't many big name movies but i like it for the tv shows and documentaries and stand up specials.

my 4 yo daughter also has plenty of crap to watch. worth the $ for us.

but if just looking for movies, might not be worth it for you.

This.

If you're looking for a bunch of new releases then it won't be for you. But there is so many really good movies out there on Netflix that not many people have heard of. I don't think I'll ever be able to catch up to everything on my queue.

Netflix/Warner Bros. contract thread-sounds like more TV to me.

Netflix Cartoon Network and Adult Swim thread

For movies, I don't think it's as good as it was a couple of years ago when they had all of the Starz stuff on it. Seems like they are giving up on getting better movies and going after the TV watchers.

Movies in "New Releases" category today:
Act of Valor 2012
One for the Money 2012
Mirror Mirror 2012
Jessie 2011

Movies in "Recently Added" category today:
Four Brothers 2005
Treasure Planet 2002
Maximum Conviction 2012
Coach Carter 2005
Jeff, Who Lives at Home 2011
The Devil Inside 2012
Sahara 2005
The Rescuers 1977
Sniper Reloaded 2011
Iron Sky 2012
Escape From Alcatraz 1979
Caged Animal 2010
Planes Trains and Automobiles 1987
Butter 2011
Windtalkers 2002
Star Trek Nemesis 2002

Yes, they have signed lots of new deals

For TV Shows.

Honestly I get my $8 a month out of it watching series I missed the first time around or catching up on current series, but if you want Movies the selection is probably as weak as when you left.

I average about 50gbs a month using Netflix for the tv shows.

The movie selection is spotty but it is just as bad at Hulu or Amazon Prime.

For the money, netflix can't be beat. Just think, you used to spend more on one trip to Blockbuster than a month of netflix. Heck, 2 damn movie rentals at Blockbuster was more than a month of unlimited Netflix.
