I have to admit I still record and watch this show but it's has about run its course. I think it's time to end it.

But they wont. The new captains are turrible. Crew members are basically the same for a while

They need a new angle.

Did you know that Elliot has his own boat now? I think we need more on that story.

Junior is annoying. Wild Bill is an a-hole and not a very good fisherman from what I have seen.

This season has been disappointing. They have shown very little of the Time Bandit this season. I know that Elliot and Junior suck when I rather see what Keith is up too.

It lost its appeal when they started giving quotas to the vessels instead of winner takes all.

I agree with this. Derby style was much better.

I'm pretty sure this happened during, or shortly after, the first season.

I think it was entertaining for a while. The past few years have been meh.

The show has been in free fall since we lost Phil. My theory is that the show built up so much and connected people emotionally with his struggle (he was the most genuine guy on the show, Jacob is a royal Frick-up, he had tons of medical issues) that when he died the show peaked with audience connection. The show just can't get back to that place that Phil's death took it to. The audience cared about Phil, they cared about how his friends and family coped with losing him for a while, but now there is just nothing really to care about. It's just entertaining tv, the audience has nothing invested any more.

It ran it's course after about 2 episodes of catching crabs.

Very astute. My wife and I have not watched since the episode after Phil died. And it has nothing to do with the quality fo the show. Hard to explain, but there was a connection with "Phil and his boys", the TIme Bandit, and "Sid and Edgar". For some reason it's not there anymore, and it seems to have happened when Phil died.

It was incredibly sad. Reality TV at its best and worst all at once.

holy shite I didn't know that show was still on. Figured it was canceled in like 2008. For me every episode felt pretty much the exact same so after a couple episodes I was good to go.

Yes. This show, much like Duck Dynasty, caught my attention for about 3 episodes. By then, you've pretty much seen all you are going to see.
