I was hoping he was Lex's son and the middle reveal surprise of the movie was the real lex coming home, bitch slapping Eisenberg, and then taking control of the company back.

Eisenberg was just as terrible in BVS. Once again the writing didn't help. I still don't understand the creepy jolly rancher scene

What scene is this?

Can you post a gif or pic of it?

He was much worse than even gene Hackman lex, which is a feat

Yep. Hackman was camp and I hate camp. As much as people bitch about Man of Steel, at least it was finally a serious movie where Superman kicks arse and my every character is a cheesy dork. Thank god we've moved on from that shite. Hackman would make a good Lex if he doesn't go for camp.

You can't blame Christensen.

Natalie Portman is an Oscar winning actress and she was wooden and terrible in those movies.

You blame the director.

Exactly. Every actor is wooden and delivers terrible dialogue. And Sam Jackson is terrible cast as a Jedi. The only characters allowed to display any charisma or personality were the CGI characters.

You can only do so much with a shitty script. Eisenberg was also woefully miscast as Luthor -- and imagine having to spout some of those lines.

Couldn't stand Christensen's voice. He sounded whiney and his voice was like a little kid on the verge of tears.

I kinda agree but definitely put the majority of the blame on Lucas. His decision making for the prequel trilogy was horrendous..And about Jesse Eisenburg, the only thing I've liked him in is Zombieland.

I can't stand him in pretty much anything. But considering he had to play a gigantic douche in The Social Network, I'd say he fit the part perfectly and couldn't think of anyone else that would have been better for that role.

I can't really say Leto was a terrible Joker. I just think The Joker will never be topped ever again after Heath Ledger. We can expect more Jared Leto as The Joker so he has his chance to further develop the character. With the little screen time he got in Suicide Squad* I don't think he could really get his moment to shine.
As for Eisenberg it's the same thing for me. I don't find him to fit the role but if you compare him to the Kevin Spacey version, Eisenberg blows him out of the water.

As for Deb in Dexter. The dialogue was never any good. That show took a major dive when the writer strike happened. The guy who played Dexter was the only quality actor on that show as well. Very disappointed with how Dexter went down hill. For a second looked like it could be the best ever.

And Star Wars prequels... I can't blame Christensen that was a weak effort from everybody.

The prequels weren't fixable. Not only is HC not primarily to blame - let's break it down:

Ewan MacGregor is the only actor who appeared to earn his money in those 3 films. We know, for a fact, that Liam Neeson can act. We've seen him do it. Just not in Star Wars. Ditto for Natalie Portman. Ditto for Christopher Lee.

SO - it was the directing and writing that failed for 3 movies - George Effing Lucas is to blame, far, far more than HC.

C'mon man. He's not even the worst actor in the prequels.

Lucas could have had Haley Joel Osment, but he chose this kid instead.

Let that sink in.

It also didn't really help the actors that so much of those movies was CG. That was in the early days of having people act almost exclusively on green screen and even today it's quite difficult for many actors to adjust to.

I think the acting in Sky Captain is far worse and many of those actors are normally pretty good too.

I don't disagree, per se, but the problem is that HC is HC in everything, and he's always bad.

This is just false.

He was solid in Shattered Glass and outstanding in Life As A House.

Well, I'd say with this scene alone, it's the closest we've actually gotten to Lex Luthor on the big screen: Prometheus.

I mean, it's not great, but I don't find it anywhere near as awful as Eisenberg was. Spacey lacks the physical presence and an actual plan that Luthor of the comics would be a apart of (ie: not real estate). Only thing Eisenberg's Luthor has in common with his current mainstream portrayal is a God complex and hating Superman.

Well, it's an opinion, so it's not really demonstrably true or false.

He was HC playing the lead role in Shattered Glass, just as he was HC playing a role in everything else I've seen him in.

Life As A House.

Haven't seen it.
