100%. Watching Happy Gilmore as an adult I realized Happy is the bad guy and Shooter was right to feel resentful towards him. Shooter spent his entire life mastering his craft and had paid his dues and was finally the best golfer in the world. Gilmore was a slacker loser who actively hated golf and was openly only in it for the money. He had no respect for the game, it's traditions or his competitors. In a fair and just world Shooter wins his jacket and sends Gilmore back to the minors where he belongs.

Shooter is a lesson in mind your own damn business. If Shooter just plays his game and ignores Happy, Happy makes his money to save the house and probably moves on and Shooter wins the jacket.

I smell a team up of some sorts. The images of Ben Stiller reprising his role of Hal only leads me to believe Happy is breaking Shooter out of the nursing home for some reason.
