Hank hills best friend

In season on Hank refers to Dale as his best friend in a later season Hank says it’s Peggy however it is Bills name that is tattooed on hanks head then the plot thickens in the episode where Patch Boomhour is getting married Boomhour and Hank have a fight but at the end Of the episode Boomhour makes it clear that Hank will be his best man someday

Rewatching this now and it is more funny than when I watched it in college. I’ve realized that’s because I am now Hank Hill. One thing that strikes me is it’s depiction of southern conservatives. It’s where many of the jokes stem from but it never feels mean spirited. You feel like you are laughing at your own culture but are in on the joke. I wish there was more of that.

Ironically he tried that with the Goode Family with liberals and of course the ratings were horrible.

The real tragedy is all of them treated Hank like shite at various times (Boomhauer not as much). Dale constantly rolled over on him, called homeland security on Hank, and did countless things to ruin Hanks house and yard. Bill openly pined for Peggy in front of Hank and tried to ruin Bobby's life on a couple occasions.
The list of things Peggy did to her own husband is too long to list and is another example of why she's a terrible human being and probably the worst wife in sitcom history.
